The NBA Draft Thread

Ainge definitely wants as many 6'8" dudes in the 2-4 spots as he can get. Wouldn't be shocked if we saw a 4 wings + Horford lineup at times.

Bro you keep preaching this but what is the precedent for this? What team has had success running 3-4 small forwards at once?
New NBA out there...game is changing. Stretch the floor and as many athletes as you can out there. At one point of the finals if was 4 guards and bron out there for the cavs at once. Cavs and warriors are making franchises catch up or be left behind.

Correct. By a team that played Steph + wings.

I mean, other that draymond sliding down to center and iggy playing pf instead of sf, they ran with a PG, sg, sf, sf, pf. Not the same as running sf, sf, sf, sf, center. You aren't sticking a jaylen brown on Steph and hoping to be successful

You guys can't be this dense.

The reason why those lineups work is because both teams have a freak of nature on their team in KD and Lebron. On top of that The warriors have one of the best defenders in the league in draymond. The Celtics have no one like that. Good luck trying to trot out Crowder, brown, whatever sf you draft next year, Tatum, and horford vs that lineup.

Right. Gsw is an outlier. But go ahead and try to beat them at their own game with lesser players

Not to mention golden State is probably the best shooting team ever so if you want to try to beat them playing the same game they play, go ahead.

It's a copycat league until someone comes up with a way to beat that style of play. You won't beat a historically great team trying to beat them at their strengths.

So what exactly should every team in the league be doing?

Right now who the hell knows. I know this current GSW isn't the same as the one from 2 years ago, but they showed definite weaknesses against extremely physical teams. The Cavs played much better when they slowed down the pace and tried to pound the ball into the hoop by driving. Out rebound them, force them to play in the half court, and get physical on the perimeter.

You won't beat them trying to run and gun with them

So teams should be replicating the Pelicans and Grizzlies?

You keep trying to change the subject . You said the Cavs got washed by steph+wings as if the Celtics can compare to that. They'd still get washed by the team that got washed

You do realize that having several guys on the floor that can guard multiple positions is good for defense, correct?

Like I said, good luck trying to have a 6'8 or 6'9 guy trying to chase Steph around on the perimeter

And you keep acting like these teams don't play most of the game pg,sg, sf, pf, center. They go to those small ball lineups for stretches
