The NBA Draft Thread

Jah is the odd man out right now assuming Simmons is the pick. If you're playing Simmons at the 4, it's only logical to play Noel next to him.

And if Embiid can get on the floor, then Noel is the odd man out.

I'd trade Jah because he will get you more

Not sure what Noel would get you, a mid first rounder perhaps

Trade them both if you believe Joel is okay

In the Sixers games that I watched this past year Okafor really didn't look THAT bad on defense honestly. In college he just gave next to no effort on that side of the ball.

From the games ive watched Oak has no motor. He does everything effortless cuz thats how he plays lol. Hes very talented & calculating in the post but other than that...hes a below average rebounder & defender cuz he doesnt seem to show much effort at those things. Seen dude walk back on defense so many times it bothered me

Maybe that can all change with a different environment, coaching & winning situation but til then his ceiling is more Al Jefferson than that dumb Tim Duncan comparison i keep hearing. Jefferson still aint bad tho lol

Whoever is comparing Okafor to Duncan is ridiculous. However, I do think he is basically a younger Boogie. He is going to keep getting better with coaching and having actual NBA players surrounding him. And right now, you could get Okafor for about half of the assets that it would take to get Cousins.

Jahlil is going to be a player whose defense nixes anything he does on offense if he doesn't really work on it

I think with the right coaching and right players around him, he can at least learn to be serviceable defensively. He was literally in the worst situation in the history of the NBA last year...Similarly to what we were discussing with Ingram and Simmons a couple days ago, it's not like any of these guys are a finished product...

I do believe that Colangelo will eventually trade two of the three centers. there is no way any one of them will accept coming off the bench and they know they will get more minutes/ money going elsewhere. If I were the Sixers right now, I'd trade Oak on draft day, then wait and see what Embiid is all about then evaluate the situation accordingly.

If we can land Heild + solid wing for Oak, that will be a win for all parties, including Oak.

He was also in a bad position when him and Noel were healthy

They absolutely CAN'T play together

I think Boogie and Okafor is a terrible comparison.

Come find me when Okafor is an awesome passer and elite rebounder like Boogie was at the same age.

Brook Lopez with less range seems like a much more accurate.

Yes, a direct comparison to Boogie is not really what I meant because I know he doesn't have the passing/rebounding. I just think it's a no brainer to go after him at 20 years old for half of what Boogie would cost to get....Giving up your entire future for Boogie isn't going to turn you into a contender.

I don't think you can give Jah a ceiling of Al Jefferson

The kids 20 years old, I think it's unfair to compare him to a finished pro

Al Jefferson was also stuck on bad teams for almost his whole career so.....*in before "and obviously teams couldn't win with Al Jefferson"*

Just about every team in the league should wanna trade for Okafor if he's available

Jah's game compares to Al's but he has a higher ceiling as in how he can impact a game if that makes sense
