The NBA Draft Thread

Just ask a Celtics fan..would you guys take Noel instead of Oak for just the number 3 pick..and if not why..I actually would want to keep Noel because I feel he fit a lot better than Jah if we do draft Simmons..Plus like you mention..I feel around the league Jah would probably get you a little more in return..but that's only because Noel did have such a down year.

The real value with Okafor is he isn't extension eligible this summer like Noel is. Three more years under his rookie contract.

On court performance, it just depends on the team.

But that can be mitigated with better perimeter play around him. Not that it's easy, but plausible.

There's like a 4% chance you can have a good defensive team with Okafor as a starter center.

So you agree Jah's value is higher which was my whole point
No i just named u 2 teams in the lottery that need a Noel type C beside Boston who would really have a need for Jah?

Jah can get u 19-8

most teams would rather have Noel and his 14-10-3

End of argument.

And if you are a good offensive team in this L you are a "pace and space" philosophy and have no need for Jah.

Catch 22

In trades of course Jah is gon be worth more cuz of his offensive potential & the hope that you can improve his defense & rebounding. But personally i keep Noel over him & wouldnt trade him for a guard like Bradley or Smart

Yall see what Biyombo doing? Yall think Noel cant ever get there too...

I mean, Biyombo's game 3 was really good. Tonight he had 5 points and 14 boards. Still solid, but I would expect Noel to generally be better than Biyombo...

The point i mean to make is that you dont think Noel can impact a game as greatly with his defense & rebounding as much as Biyombo has these last 2 games. Cuz its obvious he can & then you added to the point that he would also score more too...

I absolutely think he can. I just don't think he is worth as much as Jahlil.

Ive already agreed with that & said why too but personally i like his game more than Jahs
I definitely like what Nerlens brings to the table. I just like my chances finding an athletic, defensive minded 4 to pair with Okafor more than I do a highly skilled 4 to pair with Noel...I'm also in the boat that thinks Okafor can develop into a serviceable defender/rebounder when surrounded with the right teammates, while also scoring 20+ per game for the next 10 years...

I have yet to come across anyone who is a fan of Jaylen Brown, any of them crazy fanbases on Twitter, not a single J.Brown fan and no one apparently sees that as concerning. Nearly every name after the lottery that's in the 3-10 range in all years gets some cult-esque love at a certain spot or random groupthink benefits... CRICKETS for Jaylen Brown. No one will adopt.

If he's a nice person I hate to keep pounding home how much I think he's a.) definitely not ready and b.) may just suck unless he really embraces the major developments he will need to make. He has less moves than Jesse Crain in a bases loaded situation. He's predictable, out-of-control in the face of adversity at the college level, stiff for no reason, disengaged when he's not scoring, invites foul trouble, etc. I would love to see him try to craft his game around defense so he can have some identity and hope early on his NBA career, because the consistent scoring or prospect of it at the NBA level is years out. Years.

Again, hate to reiterate and be hyperbolic but these are really fundamental boxes to check right when evaluations begin and for some reason, on May 24th, he's still slated in at the No. 4 spot. Even though things will move and more frequently up until the draft, I still would've expected him to be out of the Top 5 by the end of April. It's just amazing to me, so I have to continue to bring it up sorry Jaylen.

So where does embiid fit into the equation?
They want him to be their starting center for the 16/17 season if he's ready to go. Pair him with Simmons and Saric. Trade Noel and Okafor for guards.

I've seen some fans of Jaylen Brown on other message boards, but people still aren't really valuing him more than Bender/Dunn/Murray/Hield. It just doesn't make sense for any of the teams in the top 6 to take him. If he puts everything together and learns how to actually play basketball, he'll probably be the 3rd best player in this draft. I just think that's a BIG IF.
