I only know about the middle east...and I'll say this.....i hear Guam is a great time but work wise PACAF sucks enjoy those exercisesPCS'ing to Guam next april, finally outta texas. Anybody ever been there or have tips for overseas in general?
good....Talked to my airforce recruiter and forgot all about my juvenile record and won't be able to join because of it, so I talked to an army recruiter instead and I will be joining the army after I finish paying off my last traffic ticket
good....
what MOS are you looking for?
I'll ignore that infantry commentgood....
what MOS are you looking for?
Uh I'm not even sure yet. I've been studying the asvab like crazy tho, so I wider range of jobs to choose from... But I just know I don't want to do infantry
I'll ignore that infantry comment (Army, and Marine Infantry here), but its definitely a crazy life. I loved it.
here is the site that I recommend to people who are joining to read up and choose from MOS's. I scored a 78 on the ASVAB which is apparently really good, but infantry just seemed like something I wanted to do

check it out, do your research and make sure you know what you want so you dont get stuck in an office, or building porta johns for your enlistment
Actually I deployed once in my 4 year enlistment, but on the otherside of the coin, I know guys who deployed 2 or 3 times, it all depends on your unit, and whats going on at the time. I joined at the height of OEF, so the optempo was much higher, I'm sure things are slower now. But don't let that be a measuring stick of what MOS you choose. Pretty much all MOS's deploy, and trust me you want to deploy. Thats the only way you make any real money (not that thats a good reason for joining or anything)I'll ignore that infantry comment(Army, and Marine Infantry here), but its definitely a crazy life. Hahaha I appreciate it man! Were you deployed a lot while in infantry?

word, thats why I did it. Just make sure you pick an MOS that you like, make sure you're in shape and do well on that ASVAB broI see! But yeah I heard of plenty of people coming home from the Middle East with bank, but I'm not doing it for the money, more the experience and to get the hell away from home for awhile.Actually I deployed once in my 4 year enlistment, but on the otherside of the coin, I know guys who deployed 2 or 3 times, it all depends on your unit, and whats going on at the time. If you have a degree, don't join any branch of service UNLESS its as an officer. you'll be doing yourself a serious disserviceI was thinking of hitting the Air Force after i graduate next year. I was also thinking about becoming an officer or something since I'd have a college degree
Does anyone have any insight on the USAF?
If you have a degree, don't join any branch of service UNLESS its as an officer. you'll be doing yourself a serious disservice
also, if you're interested, and you have 4 semesters left, join ROTC, its the easiest path to becoming an officer
I never did ROTC, but I'm considering it as I come to the end of school. You would have to talk to a recruiter for all those details, or just google AFROTC/NROTC/Army ROTC, and I'm sure you can find some good infoHow's the ROTC? I still have to do bmt right? If you have a degree, don't join any branch of service UNLESS its as an officer. you'll be doing yourself a serious disservice

I'm active duty Air Force, if you have a degree definitely go the officer route. It's really hard to get in nowadays for enlisted Air Force, probably the same for officer.
Public Affairs Specialist ... know a few from the Corps and Navy. they all love their jobs. basically the media aspect of their branches. you can transition that job into a lot of different aspects in the real world as well.Sometimes I think joining the military would be best for me.
I wanted an Intelligence MOS in the Marines a few years back and couldn't get it because my parents were born outside of the US.
Any other cool jobs?
