By sunday? Negative.

Kyrie has been in the league for 4 season and Curry has been in the league for 6. But Curry has started to learn defense by season 4. Irving still hasn't learned.

No way he'll learn by Sunday
It's all effort.
Compare Delly and Kyrie.
Kyrie is the better athlete with the lateral quickness and all that
But Delly never gives up
That's why Delly will always be better at defending until Kyrie actually gives a damn

Famb ur really underestimating dellys defense. Dude does alot more than give effort and not give up.

This game showed that the Cavs can't bother the Warriors the way OKC did, and I'm not sure what personnel moves or strategy changes are out there for the Cavs to make to keep this from potentially going beyond 5 games. If Cavs continue to go small and try to match the Warriors that way, this series is going to be over quickly. I don't know if they will do it, but the Cavs are much better off mucking up the game the way they did last year if they want to make this more interesting and have a chance, in order to get the Warriors out of their comfort zone.

It's just one game, but Curry and Thompson had nothing going today, yet the Warriors were able to win relatively comfortably. As a Warriors fan it's looking good.

I'm a Warriors fan too... Not sure what adjustments the Cavs will make. But they focused too much on stopping Curry and Klay and forgot to defend the rest.. I assume Cavs plays us more straight up next time, and focus more on shutting down the role players. That's what OKC did really well, they switched every screens. Game 2 will be a bigger game for both teams. Cavs are not out of it yet.

They only lost 15? By the B team and a 20 point on 27 shots performance by the Splash Bros?

Agreed - I see them focusing more on defending Livingston, etc. However, that means that Curry and Thompson will get better looks as a result. Cavs definitely aren't out of it yet, and they'll always have a chance with Lebron on their team. OKC had players that can disrupt what the Warriors do on offense (Durant, Roberson, Adams)...I just don't know what the Cavs can do to replicate that.

This Dubs team is too deep. They have too many role players who can reliably score and the Cavs just don't have enough ways to stop it. :x

Curry is also surrounded by a lot of defensive specialist which makes it a little easier to play defense... Been watching the game for a long time. Warriors is the most complete team I have ever seen since the Showtime Lakers.

Kyrie has Shumpert, LeBron and Thompson who are considered "above average" defenders. You're going to tell me that he doesn't have teammates to lean on?

Again, people love to make excuses for the Cavs. Yeah, defense is all about effort and hustle. But at some point we need to call a spade a spade.

I don't think you game plan for role players, their defensive approach has to change from an execution prospective, but you have to stop the head of the hydra or at least contain it in (Steph, Klay, and Dray) and hope the role players regress a bit. Easier to do that at home than on the road though obviously.

Cleveland is going to have to decide if their offense is going to be their best defense or are they actually going to commit to slowing the game and pace down, because they can't do both.

You really compairing Shumpert/TT... To a goon squad of Dray/Klay/Iggy/Livingston/Barnes being anchored by Bogut... Not to mention those guys plays both ways.

Shumpert/TT is too one dimensional... Cavs have no anchor and Irving also plays along side of Love/Smith/Frye a lot and most of the time. Shumpert dont see the floor enough to make an impact.

Just saw the box score. I can totally see the Warriors doing this again. Klay had 9 points and Livingston had 20. You can realistically swap those two in another game and they can score 100+ again. Iggy had 12 and Barbosa had 11. Guys like Ezeli and Speights could easily do the same. That just shows how deep the Warriors are.

Irving had 12 FTA while the entire Warriors team had 10. Game could've gotten REALLY ugly if GS had some call go their way.

I know this is game 1, but we can't act surprised how it played out. Most people predicted this would happen. While some people who had Clev winning this series just picked em just because

Another point I want to mention: The Cavs put Love and Irving on Barnes throughout the game or for most of it. Is anyone really surprised he was able to get 13 on em?

Hell, even Bogut got 10 and that's because Love was on him for most of those points until the Cavs stopped switching on him and let Thompson stick him.

This is EXACTLY what people have said. When Thompson switches to Curry it's a wrap for Love

all of this. We asked them all this past week why they had cleveland winning and how they could go about winning and the answer was always the same 'because man, cleveland'

Anyone that thinks lebron passed this ball because curry played great defense on this possession... Smh

NM, not even worth it.

Who said that? Clev usually runs a set similar to this, but there's someone who cuts into the paint and the ball eventually gets to the opposite corner. LeBron knew someone was open there (Irving).
