Beal is a negative asset because of this NTC, injury history and contract. Washington needs to give up assets for teams to take him off their hands.

Unless there are elements of the I am missing isn’t this just a case of them getting nothing in return other than a future salary dump without getting any valuable assets aside from a pick or two in return (assuming they don’t get Duncan Robinson or Shamet)?
If so, it isn’t like the Lakers Westbrook trade where they had to attach the 2027 1st to get rid of him.
How so? Based on the reports if anything they have better positioned themselves if Lowry is now the major salary component going out. I realized that they don’t even have to keep Herro either - they could trade him for depth and/or size because they will need both.
