Zion really just Larry Johnson 2.0

He's very lucky in many ways his career has played out in New Orleans cause if he was in a bigger city I'm not sure he would have been able to handle the heat. Lack of any development in terms of passing and shooting is so disappointing.

Who is this great depth of theirs? They have guys that can fill a role when the whole team is healthy, but those dudes aren’t ready to step into an elevated role and be a team’s 2nd/3rd scorers.

Which is why I never liked the Maxey > Brunson argument. He's really good, but doesnt elevate anyone's game and cant lead a team unless someone else is scoring 30+.

Doesnt matter at this point though, but Brunson on the biggest stage was taking a bunch of 4th/5th options to a game away from the ECF while seeing every defense in the book.

Which players does Brunson make better? The Knicks were arguably the deepest team in the league last year, the idea he was carrying a bunch of guys just isn't really true.

He had a great year last year but he's really a score first PG, I've never really seen evidence of him elevating anybody's game. They also lost to an underwhelming Indiana team, they giving out championships now for 2nd round exits?

Maxey is 24, Brunson is 28, he's further along in his career at the same point that Brunson was comparatively. You can take Brunson now but the difference between them and a large handful of other small, score-first guards is pretty much negligible.

Small guards hit the wall hard, that's why I thought this window if there even is one for the Knicks is this year. I shudder to think where this team will be in a few years.

Brunson won 50 games & a playoff series with Donte DiVincenzo as the second option.

Maxey is a nice little player but not that guy yet. Still young though; he will get there eventually.
Glossing over the Knicks #3 defense in the league for the calendar year 2024, 50 games. Brunson had absolutely nothing to do with that.

Tremendous individual campaign but the team’s results came from a team effort.

Philly’s roster without any combination of 2 stars is bare bones.

Wembys offense looks cool in highlights, but unless he's gunna become a Dirk level shooter, or stops taking so many Kobe system shots ,

he won't reach that offensive ceiling.

Bodega KAT the Knicks #1 anyways.

If he plays like last night then no doubt. Double him. Leave Brunson alone

Realistically, I'm not a fan of this roster as currently constructed. Feels like team is 1 rotation player away from being a true Finals contender.
