The Official NBA Season Thread: Season Starts Now

You know what’s funny. The dribble move combinations of this new gen is out this world. It’s night and day…watching Cp3 or Steph handle the rock (even harden). Compared to some of the younger cats that’s coming up. Poole, Ja, the rockets players etc.

The guys from our era, pushed the boundaries to a limit, they took it to another level. Interesting to watch the evolution.

My dribble package stops at 2016. And I feel most of the cats born in the mid 80s to early 90s are similar.

It’s a whole new thing. Like the jump from late 80s Zeke to Iverson.
My pops remarried and had another kid. His mom is 6 feet so I knew he’d be taller than me but he’s already 6 even at 11. Spent some time with them over Christmas and he’s already MILES ahead of where I was at that age with his ball handling

Seriously though, what's with the super high ppg this season? Are teams just not playing defense or is everyone actually this super talented?

A team like OKC should not be scoring 150 pts

Watching highlights..nobody is playing defense like that cause as soon as you touch somebody it’s a foul.

The NBA is a glorified pickup game these days

Raps need to shut it down & get what they can for the ‘23 szn. Siakam, FVV, OG & everyone 25 or above should be ok to go. Enter the tall frenchman sweeps but they gotta act fast. They have some catching up to do.

That’s the team everyone gonna wanna do business with.

Fair imo but I’m also just sitting here with my orange and blue shades on. Ainge & the dumbass Wolves have made it even harder on everyone around the league to move responsibly right now.

So if they wanna go get youts and draft capital, NYK have a chance. Take another couple firsts for all I care cuz them kids not gonna stop this transaction if I’m Thibs.

JB/RJ/OG/Dubious/MitchRob puts them likely to ~50 win potential. Grimes & Deuce upping the ante on defense when they get in to make things worse for them. Deuce/Grimes/RJ/OG/ MitchRob has to be one of the stingiest lineups any team could muster.

Hurts to see Obi go but he’s arguably the biggest chip outta the young guns. IQ has shown starter potential but will never be a true pg; tho he has gotten better at it.
Add a bench scoring specialist like Alec Burks [ 😔 ] and we have something cooking here.

hot sauce had everyone like this

it must have been hell to be a middle school basketball coach at that time.

I would come into practice with a powder blue sean jean tracksuit and matching jordan brand headband and wristband.

you better believe I was gunna get into my and1 bag
got kicked out of practice for doing a slip and slide in a scrimmage. :pimp:

Plus didnt they have to buy Uncle Dennis a house or give him money and benefits in some way too and they say Kawhi wanted to live in San Diego so he was controlling what time they flew out and was always late or something. High key the Kawhi Pg13 superteam team up has been a failure

It has been a failure and the blame is on Kawhi. Outside of the bubble meltdown PG has done what he was supposed to do.

Kawhi the GM ain't work.

I wouldn't call it a failure yet - more like a disappointment because Kawhi got hurt in the semis one year (thanks for correcting me folks) and didn't play the entire next season. This is going to be the deciding year for me.

Scottie Barnes trick y’all. Mobley was always the better player.

The dialogue on Mobley's sophomore stagnation has already begun, though. IDK if it's an eye test or advanced metric think but the improvements aren't glaring

Mobley is certainly better, but he's also stagnated.

Chris Bosh comparisons were always insane, if he's ever 50% of the player Chris Bosh was on offense I think that would be an incredible achievement.

DPOY potential I think puts him at the top of this class so far.

Derrick Rose is the first guard to start the quick carry, that Rose/Ja do 8o

Jaden Ivey does it too. Going right, good luck. Cuz he at the rim in a step

I don't actually have antipathy towards the players that play that way.

it's more the fetisization of certain "skills" by media and fans
that i find a lil tiresome.
Definitely but I would like for you to have the safety off when there’s 15 seconds of triple crosses and a double side step back at the end of it
