Jokic is tied with wins with the #1 seed in NBA. His stats are better or similar to the other candidates.
Is Jokics supporting cast better than any of the other MVP candidates? No.

Not at all. Boxing shows that. They'll root for a irish white boxer over a black american boxer.
Same reason why people might clown Jokic. Chubby, slow, can't jump is the same reason these media people and certain fans identify with and love him.

Russ won an MVP shooting 42.5% from the field on a 6th seed only because he averaged a triple double.

He had a historic season. Seeding was less important after Russ Westbrooks triple double season MVP year.

Westbrook's MVP was at least somewhat bias against Harden too. Which is why it's dumb for JJ to act like there's no type of bias when it comes to voting

Also the narrative that Jokic has less help is wrong too. Denver has 3 other players averaging over 17 a game and 3 more in double digits.

To keep it a buck I think most people look back at that Russ MVP as a mistake. Jokic is 1-8 in his last 2 playoff series, if this man can't at least make a Finals people will look back at him the same way.

Also Jokic is 0-2 against Giannis and Embiid this year and Embiid worked him in front of everyone and put 50 on his head.

Who should’ve won it last year? Embiid with 3 more wins in the East? Playing with another all star/mvp in Harden?
Or Jokic who led his team to 48 wins, putting up historic numbers without his second or third option for the entire season?
