Ben literally plays a game based around shooting a ball and refuses to shoot. There’s been some bad offensive players in this league but they would at minimum still take a shot (Westbrook). Ben literally WILL NOT SHOOT. Man literally avoids getting fouled so he doesn’t have to go to the line. It’s just weird at this point. Get this BAN out the league please.
Hella reasonable for 99% of the post but the last sentence was on brand af

Obviously I didn’t mean I’m comparing them from title wins. I just meant still one of the best players in the league at an older age

Never understood the Ben Simmons hate. One of the best defenders and passers in the game.

Teams have no issues quitting on players but when a player no longer wants to play for a team its a problem?

Interesting.

It's not really a problem for anyone but Ben, since he's not getting paid

I don't think most of us care if he's playing or not

Making Simmons out to be some kind of victim is weird. And he's going to be the one that could make things worse for all players thanks to him being a kitty cat. The new CBA prob gonna **** on players

When you have people in here who are always pro-Player Empowerment not sticking up for Ben, you should know what's what

Whats the difference between what Carson Palmer did to get out of Cincy and what Ben is doing?

Bruh yall bout to blame Ben Simmons for the CBA too?

Wasn't that great at either in the playoffs. It's more than just that layup with Ben. He has a hard time excelling at what he's supposed to be elite at in the playoffs
His entire offensive game is centered around dribbling to the free throw line then passing to whoever's open
Too easy to blow that up in the playoffs

If Ben is that incomplete of a player why not just trade him if you're Philly? Why want such a big return for a fragile, terrible player?

You can't have it both ways lol

100%. Owners and GMs are birdman handrubbing as they watch the Philly situation unfold because they see it as an opportunity for them to reclaim some of the power they lost over the past decade. If you can't see it or don't think they will point to this situation and craft a provision around it then IDK what to tell you.

IMAGINE DEFENDING THIS GUY

As if any other superstar pulling that houdini act wouldn't get killed either

Would've been different if he was expected to be role player or something but he's supposedly a franchise guy and has been getting paid like it, those are the standards fair or not

Following that up by straight quitting on the team wholesale instead of working on those deficiencies or even just showing up would've been inexcusable for any other star too. No one in the world would be calling them a victim

If your job is to play basketball for the team you're signed to and you want to get paid, why don't you suit up for the team that you're signed up to?

You can't have it both ways >D

If you want to leave your job right now due to bad management can you do that?

Typically when it's "free such and such" it's in the spirit of the player actually moving in good faith

Simmons has not over the course of 2-3 years, if not more

Therefore he's getting whatever he deserves
