Kyrie could sign for the TMLE ($6M), then be a free agent next summer. But the Lakers could only offer Early Bird Rights, which could increase his salary to like $10M. Lakers wouldn't have Full Bird Rights until after three years.

So really S&T the more realistic option but Nets wouldn't want Russ back, correct even with picks added?

Nah, best option would be Kyrie opting-in then getting the Nets to do a swap. Or the Nets route Westbrick somewhere else and get other players from a third team.

But I think this is all a leverage play by Kyrie. I think it'll end up being an incentive laden contract for Kyrie and the Nets.

Logically, how is it possible for them to sign Kyrie?
It's not. It would literally have to defy logic by both the Nets and Kyrie.

ESPN has leveraged Woj's ability to break news into passing off speculation and fantasy as actual news so all their mouthpieces have some nonsense to talk about all day. They literally create content to talk about.

copy/paste into group chat.

Kyrie is not taking a massive pay cut to go to the lakers

We see this every offseason, the media throws the knicks and lakers into every trade scenario because they know it'll get views

Kyrie opting-in and then being traded would get it done but then you're left with Russ and Ben as the Nets since KD is apparently threatening to take his ball home if his bestie isn't around

He lost a lot of money last year so he's already used to it.
