is there a trick or some sort of to get quicker performance? i'm using a sandisk extreme iv (30mb/s), so i don't think it's that.

I don't think there is a way around that, my friend sold his because of that horrible shutter delay, that plus no way to change the lense are te reasons I stood away....someone at BH mentioned to me that a second gen model is in the works, it'll be 300$ more but you'll be able to switch your glass and hopefully they'll fix that shutter delay...then I'll get it....incredibly amazing toy otherwise, the shots my boy got out that camera were

yeah, that's the only thing i hate about it.

i've contemplated about selling it, but i might just keep it since i still like it A LOT.

Two things....

First, anyone selling lens(s) for Canon? I use a T2i and could use an upgrade ...

Secondly, wanted to get some info as to what kind of lens I should look into for indoor/low lighting areas. I was looking into something such as
Sigma 30mm f/1.4 since it is affordable, but I'd like a really good quality lens since I hear mixed reviews about it.
I had a CF card go blank after a shoot today (no idea how it happened.) I know a few recovery programs, but does anyone know of a free one for Macs? Any help would be much appreciated!

I finally decided to buy my DSLR. Do you guys think this is a good price?

D5100 with Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR Lens and Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200mm f/4.0-5.6G ED VR Zoom Lens + a bag for $882

I plan on selling the lens. How much would I get for them?

I've been debating for over a year on which one I should buy. I was gonna go with the D7000 with 18-200mm but this came out to be cheaper by $1000.

Plus it'll work for what I am going to be using it for.

Thanks anybody for any help. I've always lurked this thread since Vol.1. A lot of ya'll have real talent.

You're going to limit yourself with the types of lenses you're going to be able to use on the D5100 because it doesnt have an internal autofocus motor like the D7000 or even the D90 have. I shot myself in the foot getting the D5000 a year ago not knowing about the autofocus motor. Prime example are the Nikon 50mm lenses. Up until recently the only Nikon 50mm lens that will autofocus on the D5000 or D5100 was the 50mm 1.4 which runs around $400, while the 50mm 1.8 can be had for about $110. Even with the new 50mm 1.8 AF-S lens that Nikon just came out runs $200+ and isnt that much better than the older 50mm 1.8 AF.

I would just buy the camera new and shop craigslist for used lenses.

Just got back from Hawaii with about 1300+ photos but only so many that looked decent to show off. I think any other person that was good at taking photos would have killed it here cause things are just too nice to mess up here. And yes...due to my limited lens selection of lenses, there will be a lot of fisheye stuff. I'll post up more later......
