I got a friend who's selling his 50mm 1.8 I (with the metal mount). Is it worth some extra cash (didn't get a price yet) for the metal mount? Or should I just grab a brand new 50mm 1.8 II off amazon?

Anybody have the mark 1?

Fong - Saw your post a back a few pages, but the D700 has that option your looking for. I dont use it, after I went from the D90 to the D700, a big difference.

Finally pulled the trigger and bought the Canon T3 today as my first camera. Pretty content with the purchase so far. Taking pics mostly for fun, more work done with video really. Any tips you guys might have for a newbie to photography?
