Different times and 2 console generations ago. Back when Microsoft actually cared about a console war. Microsoft paid about $100 million for the 1 year timed exlusive episodes dlc story packs for GTA IV. They heard at first GTA IV was going to be exclusive to PS3 at first. Don’t forget going back to the PS2 era Sony had the exclusive 1 year window for GTA III, GTA, Vice City, and GTA San Andreas.

69 Billion on Activision shows they still care. Marketing rights will be much cheaper in relative terms.
