Umm..when the W's went on that crazy run to make the playoffs, Harrington was playing center. Biedrins was coming off the bench.

....beans started 8 games while al started 5 so i mean im not saying al isnt part of that team, but im just saying beans did do something compared to monta who got nervous and couldnt make anything during the series. ANYONE REMEMBER HIM HITTING HIMSELF IN THE HEAD?! Actualyl felt sad for him.
DOES ANYBODY REMEMBER WHEN BARON DUNKED ON KIRILENKO?!

Yes, we remember man. We didn't just start watching this team. Easy on the Caps Lock.

how about you calm down? i was just stating a memory not implying people dont watch the team? But when he dunked on kirilenko house when down oh man.... ahaha the meter at the bottom of the screen.

Nice grammar/punctuation btw.

a lineup of curry-bell-rad-AR-beans with monta-corey-watson sounds alright.
too bad it'll never happen.

not a bad trade, but we really just had to get rid of Jack, that crap contract, and the distraction that he was. Nice that we banished him to a team thatwasn't a contender.

Weird how Baron, Barnes, Richardson, Jackson are now all gone...funny how things have changed dramatically since We Believe.

If we can find good value for Ellis, I'd be okay with trading him. Funny how back then we wanted to build around Monta/Biedrins (and keep Baronaround)....never would I have expected the debauchery that is Robert Rowell to occur, although I can't say I'm surprised, we're the Warriors.

just read it. happy about the trade, i just hope Radmanovic won't be playing any C or at all. plus he could be a good trade bait with his expiring.

You can get a lot for him. Even with his injury last year, Ellis still can score and run the court. His defense and ball handling skills is hisdownfall. If anything, the Warriors keep him around and Ellis will step up in some way for the W's.

I like the trade a lot. We got expiring contracts for a player who can play solid defense and actually guard the "big guards" and we have a PF/Cthat can shoot. Tskitishvili 2.0!

Oh yeah, for all you CJ Watson haters, he has Swine Flu.

I don't think there's any real way to see a team that would want him. Just off of teams that could use a SG Wizards, Hornets, Cavs? Maybe a tradewith Philly where we unload Biedrins and Ellis for Dalembert and Brand. Brand move is bad, but he has one less year than both and Dalembert expires in 2011.It'll be a lot easier to trade Brand in a year or so anyways.

saw this while at school, was happy all day.
Not a bad trade at all

But Jackson's time here was appreciated

Jackson's time prior to this year was fine.
Unfortunately very few will remember it like that.

Once Baron and JRich left and he was made a bigger part of the offense (ball handling, decision making, using his brain) was when it all went downhill IMO.
Warriors do something right: Trade Jackson to Charlotte for $21M in future cap relief
* 1:07 p.m. update Just dawned on me that I should lay out the Warriors' big-picture churn since the "We Believe" 2007 playoff run

-Since '07, Warriors have LOST or TRADED:

Baron Davis;

Al Harrington;

Stephen Jackson;

Jason Richardson;

Mickael Pietrus;

Matt Barnes;

and Marco Belinelli… (4 "We Believe" starters plus).

-To show for all that, Warriors now have: Radmanovic, Raja Bell, Corey Maggette (for some of Baron's $$), Ronny Turiaf (F/A $$), Devean George, Brandan Wright and Speedy Claxton.

- Monta Ellis, Andris Biedrins and Kelenna Azubuike are the only remaining members of the "We Believe" roster. Azubuike probably out of the year, Biedrins out indefinitely. And we'll see how long Ellis lasts.

IT'S A GREAT TIME (TO SHIP) OUT! Come watch the Radmanovic Era at Oracle Arena! BUY TIX! BUY TIX! BUY TIX??

-Of course they had to do this while I'm on vacation. That's a no-brainer.

This will be quick because, ahem, I'm still on vacation, but this is big enough to come out of it for a brief spell.

The Warriors just officially announced the big trade-Stephen Jackson and Acie Law to Charlotte for Vladimir Radmanovic and Raja Bell.

* The salary particulars: Law and Bell are basically both expiring contracts;

-After this season the only leftover money is SJax's $27.8M and Radmanovic's $6.9M player-option for next season (which he will almost certainly exercise).

-That's nearly a $21M savings for the Warriors. Huge.

* The player particulars: The Warriors didn't get Boris Diaw, who would've been a perfect fit for the pass-shoot Don Nelson system, but that was (probably) too much to ask. I say "probably" because I still can't believe the Bobcats gave up as much as they did for a disgruntled, over-extended 31-year-old swingman.

Bell is 33 and a bit past his Phoenix-era prime, but he plays defense and can shoot the three.

Radmanovic is certainly no rebounder (4.1 career average) or low-post stud, but Nelson is going to love that he's 6-10 and shoots threes (38.4% career).

That's not a terrible combination for a Warriors team that has been terribly mismatched for Nelson's wishes so far.

I can see Bell moving into heavy minutes at the 2-guard opposite Monta Ellis or Stephen Curry. Obviously there are large wing minutes now available with SJax gone and Kelenna Azubuike hurt.

This doesn't mean the Warriors are super-jet charged by the deal, and will go exploding into 44-win territory. Just means…

* The big-picture particulars: Larry Riley and Don Nelson did better on this deal than almost anybody in the NBA expected. I kept hearing that teams wanted the Warriors to give up real talent or picks in order to move a pain like SJax.

They didn't do that. They washed their hands of Jackson relatively cheaply. It took weeks. It was obvious they had to trade him back before training camp started. It soured everything this season.

They finally did it. I won't give the Warriors too much credit for today, since you have to realize that Robert Rowell created the entire mess by giving Jackson the three-year extension almost a year ago.

If he hadn't done that deal, just think of how much more the Warriors could've gotten for Jackson-who would've been an expiring contract-right now.

The Charlotte side of this probably has 1% to do with Rod Higgins being over there and Rod was instrumental in bringing SJax to the Warriors when he was GM here.

And it has 99% to do with Larry Brown being perpetually antsy about his roster, being sick of Radmanovic's terrible defense, and just wanting a change. He got one.

You actually take a look at the roster, and think, hmm, they have some talent: Diaw, SJax, Gerald Wallace, Tyson Chandler, D.J. Augustin. Not awful. But Larry will want to trade 3 more guys in the next week or two, probably.

* The SJax retrospective: Won't get too much into this, but he was a unique player to come through this town. Mostly hated at this point, I realize, but he was a something you had to deal with whenever you played against, talked to or wrote about the Warriors.

He loved the limelight. Would say crazy things. Didn't duck a single question or shot. That's different.

Baron Davis was the main man and protagonist of the "We Believe" team. But Jackson was its spirit-ragged, rowdy, explosive and temporarily redeemed.

* The Monta Ellis Effect: I don't think this changes much for Ellis' uneven relationship with the Warriors, especially Nelson, but it probably cools things down just a smidgen.

Ellis' feelings are his own. He wasn't being brainwashed by SJax. They both felt what they felt, independently. But it didn't help Ellis' mood that he was hearing SJax talk about management and Nelson (I assume).

It's also possible Ellis will be even more aggrieved without his best friend on the team around. I've been told that last year-YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS-SJax continuously tried to calm Ellis down about the Warriors' void threat, kept telling him things would work out.

Now SJax is gone and thrilled to be gone, apparently even to Charlotte. That might make Ellis very envious. We'll see.
