They couldn’t get my mans a trainer?

Was 1917 really the frontrunner?

I didnt check odds but heading into tonight - it had won Golden Globes, Producer's Guild, and BAFTAS for Best Picture.

I also considered the fact that 1917 was the type of film that the Academy loves to reward and that its main competition, Parasite, is a foreign film - which has never won Best Picture before. It seemed like they would reward Parasite with best international film and that would be 'good enough'.

Is the Oscar trying to be recognized as an international award now by giving it to Parasite?

I feel like this win changes the Oscars forever now.

I mean before this they were giving the biggest awards to Inarritu and the other Latino guy. They just went the extra mile where this is a full on subtitled closed caption movie

Its just a reflection of the downfall of quality Hollywood film.

The biggest surprise of last now was the fact that a film with Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and directed by Martin Scorsese was nominated for 10 Oscars and won NONE

Clown thought **** was sweet  whats real cinema now chump

Deserving of Parasite

I liked it better than 1917.

Liked Once Upon A Time better than both, but that's just me.
