The last 6 seasons messed up the legacy.
The Wire,Breaking Bad,Seinfeld,The Shield, and The Sopranos are the only comfortable answers for the greatest show ever.

In its prime, The Simpsons was some of the best satire ever produced. Matt Groening should have pulled a Seinfeld and pulled the plug on the show once he saw the quality going downhill. Still one of the greatest shows of all time though, in my opinion.

Not even in my top 10. It was OKAY, certainly not on the level of a show like Seinfeld though.

Even with the last decade being subpar, it's still one of the greatest sitcoms ever. And considered by many to be the best
Satire, memorable characters, best in class parody, musical numbers, etc. Basically any kind of comedy, the Simpsons excelled at it.
