Longines Heritage Military 1940

Proud to celebrate its history and achievements, Longines is expanding its Heritage collection with a reimagined military model from the 1940s. The Longines Heritage Military draws its inspiration from a watch created for members of the British Royal Air Force (RAF). Stanley Turner, a highly-decorated radiotelegraph operator aboard an RAF aircraft during the Second World War, wore this model around his wrist. The watch once owned by Mr. Turner was recovered and offered to the Swiss brand by a young English collector, who inspired the current reissue. Thus, Longines is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the RAF in its own way.

Technical Specifications:
The case, in stainless steel, measures 38.5mm. It has an AR-coated box-form sapphire crystal and it is water resistant to 30 meters.

Movement is the Swiss automatic Longines caliber L888.2 (base ETA A31.L01) with 21 jewels, 25,200 vph and a power reserve of 64 hours. Functions are: hours, minutes, and central seconds.

It has a silvered Opaline dial with vintage spraying. This mist of fine droplets in black paint, a first for Longines and performed entirely by hand, makes each and every piece unique while mimicking the oxidation found on the original design from 1940. 12 Arabic numerals and blued steel hands.

It comes on a 19mm green aged leather strap and a green NATO strap with steel buckle. Strap changing tool.

Ralph Lauren has launched the Polo Bear Watch Collection in celebration of the label’s 50th anniversary. Combining Swiss watchmaking with the iconic Polo Bear created by German toy manufacturer Steiff, this collection marks the first time Lauren has designed watches specific to his Polo brand.

The Polo Bear Watch Collection features four different bears — the Flag Bear (wearing the namesake sweater that debuted on the 1989 runway), Martini Bear, Preppy Bear (wearing classic Ivy League collegiate garb) and Spectactor Bear — each character inspired by Ralph Lauren’s signature dressing styles.

The bears are hand-painted on lacquered cream white dials, accompanied by oxidized black Greguet-style hands and stainless steel 42mm by 10.4 mm round cases. The watch is powered by caliber RL300-1 movement with mechanical self-winding chronometer that runs at a frequency of 28,800. Each watch can be customized with interchangeable straps made from necktie silk twill patterns (including tartan and repp stripe prints), as well as French calfskin or exotic alligator.

The Ralph Lauren Polo Bear Watch Collection will retail for $2,000 USD and release in the near future at Ralph Lauren’s web store and boutiques worldwide.

the one introduced close to a decade ago was in partnership with richemont which owns the biggest watchmakers out there

movements in the watches, iirc, were from piaget, jlw and iwc

heads up on a sale is always appreciated but to not stray peopl einto macys, anything they sell can be had at a much, much better priced outside of macys, doesn't even need to be grey market, even ad's marks down most of those brands pretty deep

Thanks for the info. I’ve been eyeing these seikos recently and hadn’t seen a price lower than the one Macy’s is currently offering (it doesn’t appear to be on Jomashop and it’s more expensive on other websites). Though admittingly many of the other watches on sale do seem overpriced still, thought there might be still be a decent deal on there depending on what someone was looking for.

longislandwatch might have them cheaper and i don't think they charge tax

check out ebates chashback onmacys though, sometimes it can get up to 10%

check out amazon too, there are some reputable sellers there, just make sure the feedback is good

I've been debating on treating myself. I've narrowed it down to a Date just 41 with the oystersteel bracelet and the dark rhodium dial/ Explorer 2 with the black dial/ Submarine date-black cerachrom. Which of these bracelets are more prone to scratch with everyday use. I like all 3 but I can't seem to make up my mind.
