I feel like this "Ronaldo is the more complete player" talk is just a myth. Is he really a more complete attacker simply because his height and strength permits him to have an impressive vertical leap? And because he scores from far?
A complete attacker, in my opinion is one that can contribute to a team's overall play on offense from multiple perspectives. Close ball control, keeping possession under intense pressure, finding key passes in the final third, effective dribbling, consistant finishing, off the ball movement, vision of teammates positioning, making effective runs, intelligent decision making. Messi has already mastered all of this at a young age, which leads me to believe that even when he loses his pace and stamina, he will continue to be a much more effective and complete attacker.
Amazing 30-40 yard goals, a huge leap, and strength makes Cristiano seem the more "complete" attacker, but it does not.
Before i came to this thread, i swear i didn't even realize this was still a debate. I was sure most already knew who the superior attacker was.
Spare me the "Barca/Messi fanboy" or "Cristiano hater" comments. I don't even support a European club. In fact, im one of those fans that dislikes fans that support a club that is from a place they can't even point on a map.

What in the world.... I'm a fan of both CR7 and messi. Messi deserved it but I do want Ronaldo to get his as well. And for the people saying "messi wouldn't score as much on the EPL" lolz. Champions league brings us the best clubs. Messi straight ran circles around Man U which was vidic if I remember correctly and the entire team another on arsenal too. No offense to there team I'm just saying from what I witnessed

Messi has done nothing for Argentina......guess what? Ronaldo hasnt exactly been great for Portugal either
Messi cant do it in the EPL......Explain that to the La Liga players like Mata and Michu who have been excellent in the EPL. Better yet, ask Arsenal or United how good Messi is
Messi has world class talent around him....and Real Madrid doesnt? Ronaldo plays with some of the worlds best just like Messi does
Messi cant use both feet like Ronaldo....and still outscores him.
Only argument is that Ronaldo won La Liga.

when does better goal scorer = best player.... messi is a world class player, and is amazing to watch... But ronaldo is a better play all around then messi.... Imagined if they switched teams, who be winning the trophies.

Ironically, I started watching football in 2005. I never got to witness Arsenal in it's glory. Only it's downfall including the UEFA final vs Barca
We used to be feared, man. Now we're struggling against bradford and extending contracts for players like Ramsey. I can't take this any longer. But i just can't leave.

Even I was shocked when I noticed every player on the all world team were from la liga. 3 teams to be exact. All well deserved besides Xabi and Ramos IMO.

I would have to agree here. RVP had a sensational season without the greatest supply either. He literally strapped his team to his shoulders and went to work...
It was also the quality of some of those goals :x

How could you say Ramos and xabi don't deserve it? Real won liga with a record 100 points and Spain won the euro cup. They were both key players in both of those runs. If anything Marcelo doesn't deserve it. Ashley cole should have been in over him. Other than that it's pretty much a bunch of guarantees. Ronaldo and messi/iniesta of course. Casillas in goal. Falcao was debatable (RVP/ibra).
