The Ultimate Soccer Thread 2012-2013 Vol. 3 Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga etc

Anyways, psg this year has been all ibra. He scored in many close 1 goal games and had critical assists. They're also the most talented team by far

Damn. I would think with all that talent and depth (I mean really, Lavezzi, Ibra, Pastore, Moura Gameiro going forward) they would have steamrolled the league.

I guess the Ligue might become more interesting next season if Monaco get the ridiculous budget they'll probably be allocated.

I think FFF is trying to make Monaco adhere to the new taxation rules, or threaten to keep them out of Ligue 1, b/c that is a ridiculously unfair advantage they'd have...its in the courts now, and some of the other teams want AS Monaco to pay like 250mill to offset their exemption if it stays that way

maybe its b/c I'm a fan of Arsenal and Lyon but these teams coming in outta nowhere and buying all the talent in the world is annoying me  :smh:

Maybe one of you can explain this to me. I haven't seen a single second of Ligue 1 this season.

But PSG won, at the reigns of Ancelotti. I know technically speaking, another manager could have done the same with those resources in that league. But why is there such a huge movement for Ancelotti out? Didn't he do a solid job this season?

And I think some serious questions will be asked of Pardew by his board. Last season, finished 5th with 65 points, this season 16th with 41 points.

My understanding is Ancelotti wants to leave and become Madrid's coach since Mou is gone...I think Leonardo and the board want him to remain but he seems set on leaving to take on Real. Maybe hes keen on getting out of France with the new tax laws and whatnot...I hope that brings them back to earth though, so that my squad can get back to the top...though Ligue 1 is really gonna suffer for it

Doesn't Pardew still have like 7 yrs left on his deal or something? I think I saw that when Moyes new contract at ManU runs out pardew will still have a few yrs left at Newcastle

Completely forgot about Frances new tax laws. I know folks like Moura must be bleak. Isn't it something foolish like 75% tax? I could understand why some highly paid players, and managers would want to get out of France. Which then also makes me wonder, does AS Monaco fall under that tax law?

Yeah that Pardew deal was a bit reckless. He had a sensational season last year, but handing him an 8-year deal was a bit premature. With their low performance this season looks like a few players will be heading for the door (Coloccini, Cisse, Ben Arfa- and who knows who else will join the exodus). And to make things worse, if Newcastle decide to drop him, he has a giant remuneration clause in his contract making Newcastle pay a small fortune.

I'd run from france

Canal+ now reporting that Carlo Ancelotti has left his position as coach of Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. One-way ticket to Madrid.

I wonder how he'll do at Real.

what a ******ty send off

nah...it may not have ended with a win that Sir Alex wanted, but it was a thriller of a match and one that he'll definitely remember for a long long time...
only once has there been more than 10 goals scored in the history of the Premier League but never have both sides found the net 5 times...
Sir Alex creating records even on the day he retires...

crazy though that this was his 1500th match in charge of United... :wow:
also great to see the West Brom team and fans showing their respect and support for Sir Alex... :pimp:

He'll be sacked a year from now. I guarantee it.

Balotelli with ANOTHER pen....I'm not sure if he'll ever miss (or be saved) with that penalty style of his. He has it down to a science.

^^ this is what I saw for March (but I'm sure the numbers have increased

Team Number of penalties taken: Number of penalties scored:
Inter 6 6
Manchester City 9 9
Milan 3 3
Italy 1 1
Total: 19

"It’s just like a mind game between me and the goalkeeper,” he told the Daily Mirror. “Me, I know how to control my mind. When the keeper moves before me, it means that in this mind game he has lost.”

Eiddy - Ancelotti should've run away with Ligue 1 but they struggled a great deal during the season. I remember prior to last December PSG was 5 points behind Lyon. They needed the final few games to wrap up the title when they should've wrapped it up much sooner IMO.

I never thought much of Ancelotti though. I remember when he used to be at Chelsea, he would put his subs in waaay to early & it often back fired on him. I don't think he'll accomplish much at RM. He had every opportunity to beat a clearly weaker Barca side in the CL & he couldn't capitalize on that opportunity.

Why doesn't Real Madrid get a manager from one if there youth systems, or have Zidane in consideration. Ancelotti won't last a season.

Same Perez, things never change with this dude. It's going to go back to a different manger every year.

why are you so mad trunks?

lil personal attacks behind the keyboard.....classy

"Shut up you're a _____ fan" mentality out of this thread.

^ I haven't really seen this

and there's nothing wrong w/ trash talk imo.....its what makes being a fan great...

obviously if you have no ties to england then you won't have the passion fans over there do......but if someone has been pulling for a club for years then you can't act like they don't have some kind of passion for the club they root for

this elitism in being a sports fan is very very corny
laugh.gif

....if someone has been following a club/team or w/e for 5+ years then imo they have some kind of passion....

and the funniest thing about these elitist sports fans is that they're prob the most unathletic folks thats walking on this earth

Profound statement right here.

Although you two likely only ready a part of the reply and based your stupid opinions on that, you two missed my point. If not the two of you need lesson in reading comprehension. The point was in reference to how PEOPLE ON NT, IN THIS THREAD, respond and regard other people based on who they support.

As that idiot Eddie shows, some gain a bit of arrogance (ie: "pull their card") and run their mouth based on the results of a team from half was across the world from them in most cases. I was referring to the hate/disrespect towards others they dont know, not questioning their fandom.

My point was that we could try and keep it peaceful and keep up with the community but other start feeling themselves and act like people who support a different team cant have an opinion on other teams or that they shouldn't care about results of team around them in their domestic league. (think about that for a second about how ridiculous that is)

Again I want to keep that "Shut up you're a _____ fan" mentality out of this thread. Most of the Arsenal supporters (Myself, Mastermind, etc) dont do that **** and most of the United supporters dont do that **** either and are really pleasant (Sinner, Beans etc). I dont care what people outside of NT react/respond, on here there are plenty of examples of posters who keep it cordial between posters no reason everyone cant get on board.

I've seemed to ruffle your feathers because I managed to point out a few people who have the mentality of Piers Morgan (which is far more common than you think). I made no personal attack towards anyone here on this board in my statements about Arsenal. Yet here you come running around calling me an idiot, and calling other people's opinions and saying they need a lesson in comprehension. Personal attacks.

Rivalries will exist in this thread, it's part of football, people will always make a few cheap shots back and forth, believe it or not, that's part of the fun of footy. That's something you'll have to accept.
People will also be a fan of football as well as selected clubs or national teams, which means, people will comment on other teams' performance. Something else you'll have to get used to.

A few people are like like PM? You said 95% of all Arsenal fans were that way and I didn't feel that to be the case as I was always talking about on here. "Idiot" was a harsh word and I'm sorry now that the high of winning and securing top 4 has subsided a bit but I just felt that you trying to rain on the celebration was pretty hypocritical given your comments about how 95% of "typical" Arsenal fans act a couple of pages prior. I still however dont get how posting a happy Arsenal fan from London talking **** about spurs on their twitter helps your point. She is from London, Arsenal is the team she supports, and she was commenting on the critics who wrote Arsenal off and was celebrating finishing above their/her rival. Hardly an issue, no? In fact I have no problem with comments on Arsenal tbh, flat out wrong information yes, but its just that people think that since Arsenal havent won anything in a handful of years that their opinion is void as "their card will be pulled" once the end all of lack of trophies (ie you're a _____ supporters they havent dont this recently so idc idc idc) is mentioned and/or that they can say nothing about what others around them are doing or they'll be grouped in with being in line with Piers Morgan.

I have no problem with you Eiddy, I like the POV you and each active member brings in here with regards to inside knowledge about the club they support. You are a mainstay in this thread and we've had some good football discussions in the past and I hope they continue. Again I'm sorry for calling you and idiot at the time but I hope you get where I'm coming from now.

With all that said I dont however apologize for the reading comprehension bit as if you they got a "football elitest" message from what I wrote initially I dont know what more needs to be said. You falt out dont get it (I even gave them an out saying that wat they read wasn't the whole message bit even then I dont get how Mr Marcus and co could come to that conclusion. )

Anyways back to football talk....

Arsenal 26 of 30 points to end the season (+ a win and a clean sheet away at the Allianz vs Bayern). And only 5 goals conceded in final 10 games. Get in!

Now to clear out some deadwood and build on this squad!

My bad I was actually being sarcastic, that was an outrageously dumb/confusing comment from Mr Marcus that I'm still trying to wrap my head around.

So much popping at the mouth on an Internet message....gotta love this pimple faced virgin

Kid been crying for 2-3 pages....it's not that serious child...obviously me calling you one of those annoying elitist struck a nerve...who cares.....that's how you're coming off

And if you took my comment literally you're dumb as **** anyway...obviously I wasn't accounting for all but most elitist are nerds and was never good in the sport they're "protecting".

At least the nt members who discuss soccer on twitter aren't ***** like some folks in here.

*sigh* I wasn't even trying to have a go at you, I pointed out that you likely missed the whole context, but I said if you didn't then i dont know what more to say and by the looks of it youre slowly starting to come around to the fact that you simply read it wrong/dont understand.....

Serious question: Are you slow?
