I shutter at the thought the producers would go through all this to go into the midseason finale and let the Governor live. It's a perfect setup for the remainder of the season if his story ends this week

It's painfully obvious the new showrunner (Scott Gimple) HATED the way the old showrunner (Glenn Mazzara) wrote the Governor's story last season and wanted to make his own interpretation before arriving at the midseason conclusion
