THEE OFFICIAL 2012 NBA CHAMPIONS OFFSEASON THREAD! RAY ALLEN, WELCOME TO THE DARKSIDE!!!

If anything they would be only sign Rashard for the minimum. Don't see it as a risk at all.

They still need a big to play C during the reg season and in spots in the playoffs. I guess they'd rather spend the mini MLE on Ray rather than Camby, but playing Bosh and Bron at 5 and 4 consistently throughout the year is gonna wear on them.

Still would've loved to see Jordan Hill sign there but he's probably gonna get a nice deal form someone.

Spoelstra wouldn't play Bron as routinely at the 4 throughout the year. He did that when he tightened up the playoff rotation and Bosh went down.
Before that, Joel Anthony actually touched the floor

, Turiaf even started a couple of games and got plenty of burn.

Hopefully, Pittman picks it up this offseason, so he can contribute more than an elbow and we fill in the other spots with the VM.

bump so we know its still here

Good Looks!!! Looking through and found some old Heat threads lol, reading them now is fun.

We're interested in signing Darko

Yeah, Darko is always made fun of, but he would actually be a slight improvement over Anthony/Turiaf/Pittman/Curry.

Unlike Anthony and Turiaf, he's a legit 7 footer.. And unlike Pittman and Curry he's a legit 7 footer who doesn't look like he just ate another 7 footer.

They should really try and get Greg Oden though. He really wants to play for the Heat. The guy is still only 24 years old. Even if they have to keep him on the bench for an entire season and there's only a tiny possibility that he'll ever get completely healthy, they should take the chance because if he actually does get healthy, Heat could really be considered as a team with no weakness whatsoever and just straight plow through all opposition.

If we're interested in Darko, i'm pretty sure we're interested in Oden too. We can sign em both you know. Turiaf and Eddy Curry will not be resigned.

Heat to open 2012-13 at home Oct. 30 vs. Celtics

MIAMI—
It won't take long for Ray Allen to experience a reunion with the Boston Celtics.

While the complete NBA schedule will not be released until later, the Sun Sentinel has learned from a league source familiar with the planning that the Miami Heat will open the 2012-13 NBA regular season on Tuesday Oct. 30 at AmericanAirlines Arena against the Celtics.

The Heat signed Allen away from the Celtics during the opening days of free agency earlier this month, despite a larger offer from Boston. Allen since has been criticized by some in Boston as turning his back on the Celtics to instead chase a championship with the Heat.

The last time the Heat faced the Celtics, they defeated Boston in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals at AmericanAirlines Arena. The Celtics return most of the core of their 2011-12 roster, including Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce, a roster boosted by the offseason additions of Jason Terry and Courtney Lee.

The Heat's season opener will be preceded by a championship-ring ceremony at AmericanAirlines Arena. The last time the Heat had such a ceremony and the raising of an NBA championship banner, they followed with a 108-66 loss Oct. 31, 2006 to the Chicago Bulls.

After winning the only previous championship in the franchise's 25 seasons, the Heat opened by losing eight of their first 12 games in 2006-07, on the way to a 44-38 finish.

While a preliminary regular-season schedule already has been circulated to teams, requests for potential changes are allowed until the final draft is released, meaning some dates remain subject to change.

The Sun Sentinel also has learned through a source familiar with the preliminary schedule:

-- The Heat's first rematch of the 2012 NBA Finals will be Christmas Day, when the Heat host the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Heat play Feb. 14 in Oklahoma City in the second game of that two-game season series. The Heat defeated the Thunder 4-1 in the NBA Finals, closing out that series with three consecutive victories at AmericanAirlines Arena.

-- The Heat's first road game will be on Friday Nov. 2 at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks. The Heat defeated the Knicks 4-1 in the opening round of the 2012 playoffs.

-- The Heat will play a day game on New Year's Eve at the Amway Center against the Orlando Magic, who are expected to trade center Dwight Howard before the season.

-- The Heat are scheduled for only one visit to Brooklyn to face the Brooklyn Nets, on Jan 30.

-- The Heat will play Jan. 17 at Staples Center against the Los Angeles Lakers, and then host the Lakers for their lone visit South Florida visit on Feb. 10.

While last season's lockout limited the NBA to a 66-game regular season schedule, reducing season series against Eastern Conference opponents and eliminating visits from some Western Conference teams, the 2012-13 schedule will feature at least one visit to AmericanAirlines Arena by every Western Conference team and two visits by most Eastern Conference opponents.

The release of the Heat's preseason schedule is expected to follow shortly after the release of the regular-season schedule. The Heat's preseason includes two games in China against the Los Angeles Clippers, as well as a game in Atlanta against the Hawks, a game in Kansas City, Mo., against the Washington Wizards, a game in Raleigh, N.C., against the Charlotte Bobcats and three exhibitions at AmericanAirlines Arena.

NBA China Games 2012 to feature two Heat-Clippers games

NEW YORK (AP) -- NBA China Games 2012 will feature two games between the reigning NBA Champion Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct. 11 at the MasterCard Center in Beijing and Oct. 14 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced today.

This marks the sixth edition of NBA China Games and the first time the reigning NBA Champions will compete in the event. The two teams feature nine players who have been NBA All-Stars, three NBA Finals Most Valuable Players, and five Olympic gold medalists.

The Heat's roster includes three-time Kia NBA Most Valuable Player LeBron James, 2006 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Dwyane Wade, seven-time NBA All-Star Chris Bosh and 2008 NBA Champion Ray Allen.

The Clippers' roster includes Blake Griffin, winner of the 2011 Sprite Slam Dunk, five-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul, 2004 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Chauncey Billups, and two-time NBA Champion Lamar Odom.

"We are coming off one of our strongest seasons ever and we're pleased our fans will have the opportunity to watch two of the NBA's most exciting teams compete," said Heidi Ueberroth, NBA President, International. "The NBA China Games will feature several of the best and most dynamic basketball players in the world and we're excited to tip off next season in Beijing and Shanghai." Following the announcement of NBA China Games, eight NBA teams will participate in a total of eight international games this October as part of the league's 2012 marquee international preseason schedule, which also includes NBA Europe Live presented by BBVA and the first-ever NBA Canada Series.

The Dallas Mavericks will play games in Barcelona and Berlin and the Boston Celtics will play games in Istanbul and Milan against top Euroleague Basketball teams as part of NBA Europe Live presented by BBVA. NBA Canada Series will feature the Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks playing in Montreal and the Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons playing in Winnepeg. To date, the NBA has staged 107 preseason and regular season games in 17 countries and territories across Europe, the Americas and Asia since 1988.

In 2004, the NBA became the first American professional sports league to play games in China, with two games between the Houston Rockets and the Sacramento Kings in Shanghai and Beijing. Following NBA China Games 2012, the league will have hosted 13 games in China since 2004.
