Assuming both teams are at 100% health on Christmas that game can tell a lot about the potential of these 2 squads come playoff time.

that's real i'm really looking forward to the christmas game. Lakers got a tough schedule in December and need to get that #1 seed for the easiest path to the WCF. Big difference between a first round in the 3-6 seeds vs a match-up against the 7/8 seeds right now.

I’m excited for that game just like everyone else but it’s not going to tell us a whole lot other than where each team stands in December, 4-5 months away from the playoffs .

Things can change so quickly in this league. Just look back at opening night. The Lakers didn’t look great. And now they look like they’ve been able to figure some things out.

Agreed. Teams and players can always hit another gear in the playoffs, especially Bron and Kawhi. However, the reason I feel that game can tell us a lot is because that will 100% be a playoff atmosphere. Nobody likes losing primetime games, especially a Christmas game. And Bron and Davis will wanna prove LA is their city after that first loss and Kawhi and PG will wanna show that they’re the true duo to worry about in the West

Opening night game against the Clips. That was a close game and was tied going into the 4th. Clip fans trying to front and make it sound like they won by 30+ that night. Clips lost @ Houston, needed OT to beat Boston this week and were in a close game against Houston tonight. No reason to think they are a top 3 team in the West right now. Clips will have problems getting to the WCF if they have to go through Houston, Utah, or Denver.They don't have the size up front to match up with AD, Dwight, Lebron, and Kuz. If the Lakers also get Iggy after the trade deadline passes and he gets bought out, thats even more match up problems for the Clippers if they meet the Lakers in the playoffs.

All that doesn't make what uptemp0 said false. When the Clippers have their 2 main guys, they're 2-0 vs. Top tier opponents. Period.

If you're talking about his 3-point shooting, then only one season of his entire career qualifies for being merely "below average". That was his career-high 3-point shooting percentage from 2016-17 (his MVP season), which at .343. Otherwise he's always been putrid.

Exactly. But kawhi can cover Bron straight up. You slow Bron, you break the machine. Theoretically, that's how clippers would succeed, kawhi on Bron, and pg can't be a choke artist. And nobody on Lakers stopping Lou will.

On the flip, maybe Bron goes god Thor mode and attacks kawhi broken body over n over. Trezz and zibac gonna have their hands full with the Hydra, ad-dwight-javale. Kuz could be the special x factor. Maybe put rondo on Lou will. Danny and Bradley and pope to guard as many guys as they can.

Lakers interior presence makes up for the discrepency on the wing defensively imo.

I feel like health maybe the deciding factor in the West though.

The likelihood of all 4 LA stars being healthy come the playoffs is slim.

That could bring other teams into the mix.
