Lakers interior presence makes up for the discrepency on the wing defensively imo.

I feel like health maybe the deciding factor in the West though.

The likelihood of all 4 LA stars being healthy come the playoffs is slim.

That could bring other teams into the mix.
How does interior presence make up for wing deficiency?

The Clippers and Lakers have contrasted styles. If the Lakers can't keep up with the Clippers wings, they'll have to play those bigs less. If the Clippers can't overcome the Lakers frontcourt size, they'll have to play their wings and small lineups less. Simple

So just devil's advocate. So those 2 both deal with injuries...who would you guess is 3rd and even more...who else....best case scenario...all the stars align...is the potential dark horse for the finals? Like how Portland skated through the playoffs and ended up in the wcf and should've been in the finals

With no warriors, only other high clip perimeter shooting team is Houston and they're wild inefficient now. They just be jacking shots like if they don't, they're afraid they'll lose em. So with no prolific shooting teams, teams have a higher ration of mid-range and at the rim attempts. Anything at the rim is getting swatted.

There's only a few elite wings the Lakers would have a prob with. James. Kawhi. Pg.

No Klay. :frown:

Every time a big is beat off the dribble it's going to create open shots for other players in the mid range and from 3 for drive and kick opportunities. The Lakers are big and lead the league in blocks etc. But "anything at the rim is getting swatted?" Nah.

Kawhi is the Only guy who The Lakers wouldn't have an answer for on Offense.

We've seen Playoff P the last two seasons guarded by guys like Igles, Aminu, Harkless etc etc. he isn't a guy who will continue to physically abuse his defender, So Green/Kuz should be okay guarding him.

Lou is another guy who has been notoriously shaky come playoff time & we have energetic defenders in Bradley/Caruso/KCP who can keep up with Lou around screens & chase him off ball.

Kawhi is the issue for now, he's just gonna have to get his, more important possessions AD will probably be the guy defending him maybe sometimes Lebron.

LeBron/Kawhi isn't the mismatch people think it is. They've only played twice in the last two years and they hardly matchup but Bron has had the advantage. He blew passed him easily twice on opening night and hit a fadeaway in his grill. Kawhi doesn't have blowby speed anymore so it's easier for Bron to contain him these days. Kawhi is like 1/5 against Bron in their last two matchups. That's not saying much but it's all we have to go off of in current events

Harden is so concerned about people being able to say he changed the game NOT when it’s all said and done, but now. Yes James, no doubt you’ve changed the way the game is played in the league, which ultimately inspires similar playing styles at the college and elite hs levels.
So what.

I don’t understand the priority, get that chip first and then talk all you want. I swear this dude might take a sabbatical to Africa or something if he doesn’t win mvp this year. Yet , coming up short in another wcf seemingly wouldn’t cause the same effect. I hope to be proven wrong at some point.

If you can just focus on closing out and running guys off the 3pt line because of your front court that’s a big plus.

Rockets.

They seem to match up well with the Clippers and Russ & Harden are typically durable / available.

Bottom line, after half a summer of the "we're too big for the Clippers" talk, the Lakers had a perfect chance right out the gate to show it. With no pg, the Lakers got beat and out rebounded. So, the Lakers will have to show me.

Christmas day bruh :pimp:

Westbrook is just atrocious. Along with Carmelo Anthony he is the worst superstar in the history of the league.

Nevermind that bricked open 3 at the end. Earlier in the game he had not one, but two fast breaks where instead of going for secure 2 points, he tried to draw a foul by attempting to make contact with the defender, thereby altering his own damn shot and missing the layup/dunk in the process. It's staggering how low his basketball IQ is.
