Dirty *** play smh

How did nobody on the floor for the Mavs step to Russ after this **** LMAO ... Dudes scared.
20+ years of excellence is now meaningless due to 18 games of being meh
Can't make a call on how good Luka is after 15+ games - to the point we can't even stomach podcasts of people talking about him - but it's more than enough to write off 20+ years of consistently strong output.

'magine.

We have seen Pop develop guys who were under the radar/not on anybody's radar to becoming allstars/HOF'ers. I don't think this season is a mark on his coaching. You do need some talent and they are lacking.

He did **** up that situation with Kawhi though. They should be in a much better position right now. He don't get enough criticism for that

I've literally been quoted calling pop a top 2 or 3 coach of all time on this site, I'm not underplaying him at all.

With that said for years people acted as if Pop's coaching was the driving force for the Spurs being elite, when in reality once those ELITE PLAYERS were no longer there he's had middle of the pack results.

This is true of every coach, but again for years in several different areas people acted as if Pop was the exception to the rule, like him & his system were somehow immune to the rule. The past three years he hasn't had elite talent and has had average results. Only point i'm trying to make is Pop is reliant on stars just like every other coach and now we could finalls put that BS narrative to rest.

Great coaches make good situations elite.

Great coaches can't make average talent compete for titles.

Great players (LeBron, Kobe, Shaq) can elevate average talent around them. Coaches don't have that level of influence... Just not how this league works.

Pop's 2 marquee players are both mid range specialists, I don't know how far that's supposed to get you in 2019. DeRozan are Aldridge is just not a combo that will take youvdeep regardless of coach. The rest of the team is still pretty damn young sans a couple players.

If anything GM Pop should be getting more slander, he had a heavy input into what the team is now...But I see no issues with his coaching, doing what he can as far as on the court

Which two seasons were these? Last season when he turned the leagues worst shot distribution into a top five offense? Or the one before that where the Tier One/ Top Five player didn't play at all during the season thereby ruining the roster continuity and tying up cap that could have been used on a replacement player?

You have no idea what you're talking about

Football is trash but one thing it does a good job of is giving proper credit to people and teams who didn't win anything. It's mostly because football as accepted the "Any Given Sunday" mantra as gospel which is conceding to the randomness but it allows for people to get proper credit.

Basketball to my knowledge moreso than any other sport I've come across cares more about winning than anything else. Everything else is a very distant second, and personally it makes a lot of judgement askew when looking through that lense.

Winning is over rated.

Somewhat agree, but the main diff is that football has a single elimination playoff so you get more upsets. So the champ might not actually be the best team.

In basketball it's really hard for a lesser team to win in a 7 game series. The best overall team usually wins the chip.

russ out here playing two hand touch like we used knowing we were losing

if an 18-game sample is enough to wipe out two secades kf sucess, can we say that a six-year stretch of being utter dog**** is wnough to wipe out 100 years worth of franchise success?
Them banners in the rafters from the 70s and 80s fly forever dawg.

Some of this stuff is so silly I can’t figure out if it’s trolling or stupid or both.

The way #YALL doing Pop & Kerr is sick :smh:

Irrational slander gets loaded at everybody, but when it's one of ya'll faves it's too much

Oh I totally agree.. Football has an element of randomness that is actually celebrated by the fans. Basketballs ability to play more games avoids that but even with baseball and hockey winning isn't the end all be all like it is in basketball.

Baseball the value of an individual player is celebrated more than any other sport and Hockey just seems to not get swept up in narratives a lot.

Basketball is the sport of the four majors where winning is given the most credence and sometimes it's given too much.

We could work those numbers Cool, However if we gonna do that

The Clippers would have to go about 20 seasons of 82-0 to wipe the stench off em
