That's a joke. Especially for one and dones.

All these dudes are already friends. Bonds are already formed.

Duke Brotherhood is just a dumb title.

To us it is. To 18-19 year old kids na that means something.

Bro you know damn well if you got a full ride to Duke or an overseas offer to New Zealand you’d take the Duke offer.

The bag is probably the same too

High school kids want the college experience..to be courted by coaches.
The glory..To go to the tourny. Come out a big prospect. Thats always been the norm. Things are changing though

I listen to it all the time. That was when state and city championships mattered. There was actual rivalries. Now these dudes go away for school and play in 100 different high school tournaments that none of that **** matters as much.

Bruh...Q Rich and D Miles played on the same AAU team. That’s their foundation for their close friendship :lol. The most prominent and influential “brotherhood” in basketball today....Banana Boat Crew....

Are from Akron, Baltimore, Winston Salem & Chicago. 3 of them (melo, Bron & cp3)....formed their bond as high schoolers.

All these camps, team USA, showcases, AAU etc...is how these dudes “form bonds”. It’s clear as day. Just look at Slam.

These *****s friends like **** :lol. Y’all he talking about “AAU culture” and “buddy buddy”.....well this is the bonds they make...that make Dlo, Booker & KAT want to play together...despite being from 3 completely different parts of the country.

Point is, unless our family is in dire need of money, I legit feel like everyone here would not go the overseas route if the same opportunity presented itself. From a pure basketball standpoint, unless you’re some next level talent, you’re killing your exposure.

I guess the only issue I have with your statement is the, "you’re killing your exposure." portion.

It isn't 1996 where it is virtually impossible to keep track of non-NCAA prospects.

What type of exposure is being killed? From clueless soccer moms that don't even follow the sport?

Those that KNOW/MATTER, know what you are about. That is all that a prospect should be concerned with. Ok, cool. He isn't in the One Shining Moment video, that's cool.

Killing your exposure to the everyday fan but that doesn’t matter in terms of draft status. There might be 3 international players picked in the lottery along with 2 Americans that barely played college ball this season. These teams are doing their research.

International players are in every lottery though.

If this draft wasnt so bad, i dont think Killian Hayes and RJ Hampton would be lotto picks. Kinda how Anferne Simons, but who knows since scouts like to draft any 18/19 year old in the lotto.

Do you think RJ Hampton would've been drafted higher if he went to college instead? He was #5 in his class per ESPN.

Bet they talk about the “free education” and “college experience” word to ballinsam23 ballinsam23  :smh:

Same folks talking about "education" and "college experience" are probably firing up their Dell Laptops (Michael Dell), signing into their Windows Account (Bill Gates and Paul Allen) and posting these hot takes on Facebook (Mark Zuckerburg).

THEY ain't slick, man :smh:

college players will be allowed to be compensated in the not too distant future. and the one and done rule will be ending, so players good enough will get paid no matter what route they chose

there's still some value in attending a top program like UNC, UK, duke, etc. though. aside from the connections you will make - from a basketball stand point a lot more time and resources to work on and develop your game vs playing professionally

i agree that the exposure difference between playing college ball and internationally is a non-factor at this point

Idk he's an interesting case. Competiton in college wouldnt have been as good so maybe he'd put up better numbers.

Havent watched more than 1 game of him in the NBL, but he seems trash to me in general. His minutes went down as the season went on, not a good sign at all.

I’m going to disagree here.
