And imagine if KAT got to play with a playmaker like Luka and shoot wide open 3s with his ratchet
Yeah honestly the offense is already the best of All Time... swap out and get sure fire conversion from 3... but then again I go back to the interior defense. Was never Dwight's strong suit and now he has a devastating injury... Maxi and KAT are ok I guess but KP does make a difference defensively for this squad (imo) not sure what the metrics say lol

Didn't know you could make an impact on the game in a suit for almost half his career.

Funny how these conversations intersect

I'm assuming y'all are basing "winning" on that 17/18 season where the Knicks were still 4 games under .500 at the time of his injury. And they were trash the other 2 seasons and that's with Melo on the roster with KP. Don't make any sense. Luka drives the winning the Mavs are doing.

Gimme the guy that before this season was available to play in 98% of the games every time.

KAT is a talented offensive player. But he’s not a Number 1.

A team with him as the best player isn’t going to be a contender. Not saying KP is that, because he also is not, but if you’re waiting for KAT to go on a run of leading his teams into the playoffs, you’re going to be waiting a while.

Since when does a 2nd year player who was suppose to be a project suppose to drive winning? When KP was drafted everyone knew he was years away, plus all the attention was on washed Melo and Phil until his last season as a Knick.

We get it. He's European, got snuffed by someone half his height at a foreign pub, and his brothers are all douchebags.

Glimpses of how good he is and can be, came out much faster than expected. He's had 3.5 seasons in the league. Any other player would be praised for their impact and how good they look after a ACL tear.

Luka drives their offense but KP shores up the other end. Now again, if KP can actually figure out how to consistently shoot from the outside it could elevate them straight into contender conversation within a few years

Their team plays so well together they all have defined roles... everyone wants that 3rd star for them but if they can somehow keep everyone that arguably could be a better solution than 3 stars and a thin rotation

Lol you were the one that said he 'driving' winning. Surely you could tell the class when that happened since the record shows something completely different.

Sabonis is a white European too. No one cares about what hood he’s from. You’re just gassing him, that’s all. You’re letting the speck of light he gave the knicks lead you into thinking he’s better than he actually is.

I dont bring up his blocks because just like steals that doesnt mean you can play defense. As a help defender and capable switcher, he impacts the game defensively.

Offensively he can lead a team as a #1 option. He's shown flashes of it plenty of times. He averages 20 ppg without having any go to move outside of a face up bank shot.

I've had him under a microscope long enough to know what he's capable of.

Sabonis is American born. Different story.

Had this conversation with my father a few weeks back.. Was parked near Brooklyn bridge park back during the height of the pandemic and these entitled ****ers are walking around with no mask or gloves like there isn't a pandemic going on and there are no police bothering them. You go to the parks in the more urban communities and police are parked up or the gates to the park are locked etc.

There needs to be a balance, you can have the greatest algorithms and analytic teams and still put a garbage product on the floor that doesn't lead to wins.

You can also have a team full of "dawgs" and be trash too.
