I've been extremely high on Theo for months here. It came down to RM vs Barca to get him, and that release clause made it a steal. I thought Barca might have had the better chance to sign him with the apparent vacancy at LB, but then I saw RM wanted to make him a CB potentially instead of LB, and make him the next Sergio Ramos [emoji]128520[/emoji]. We have a player that can be part of our back line for the next 15 years if everything works out. I'm crazy excited about this move. Not just getting the player but he's also proven himself in La Liga, and at a major discount. What?! Thank you Atleti

They didn't let him go though, it was a buyout clause and in addition to the typical RM allure Real has a great youth movement going

Interesting apparently Barca never made any push for Theo, Atleti were just trying to offer him to Barca so that he doesn't go to RM. Barca are content with Alba/Digne and are focused on upgrading at RB.
