Trevor Ariza leaning toward leaving the Lakers, possibly to Cavs

This dude Ariza was more of a factor in shutting down Hedo, Orlando's biggest playmaker and big shot artist, and taking over the 3rd quarter in Game 3 or 4or whatever it was in which the Lakers won, that basically wrapped up the Finals IMO. So that's why I said that.

Odom just wants to win...he made 14 mil last year thats about to be decreased by a grip if anything I think he'll play with more of a chip on his shoulder, especially since it seems that we "picked" him over trev if that ends up being the case.

Good bye Trevor. If you go to the Cavs you will be booed for the rest of your life everytime you come to the city of L.A

Come one man, enough of this just want to win garbage. If Kobe just wanted to win, why didnt he terminate his deal and sign for less money (if that werepossible)? Why wouldnt Odom find a way to take less so they could still pay Ariza? These dudes want to get paid, end of story.

this is all just speculation...nothing official yet...lets just wait and see what happens...a lot of funny things can happen from here on out

Offensively his style of play wouldn't work many places. He can't create his own shot.

Yes and I once told a girl I liked James Taylor's music so I could fool around with her. When the $$$ is on the table, 99/100 they are going to leave nonebehind.

lol...ariza is replaceable..they got guys like artest, barnes, and ghill to replace ariza...who can replace odom?

Can someone enlighten me as to how Ariza is going to "get paid"? What teams can offer him more than the MLE? Eric Broussard was saying lastnight, and I doubt this story is true, that Ariza felt it was a slap in the face to be offered the MLE and that he would now take another team's MLE to spite the Lakers. Sounds out of character but if it's true how does that make him look? I find it hilarious that whenever a freeagent signs somewhere the NT consensus is usually, "that's too much $$$. they're overpaying him." But here we have a player who isclearly nothing more than a role player in the NBA, and you guys are egging him on to "get paid." Charlie Villanueva just got 7 mil/year. Ariza is not in the same class as him. Charlie had some 30 & 10 games on the sorry *** Bucks! And you want to see Ariza get 8 million?! That's not right!

damn paper chaser ..
League executives believe Portland or Toronto, whichever team does not sign Turkoglu, will offer Ariza between $32 million and $40 million deal.
I believe the Lakers can offer 5 years/$30M so I'm wondering if they're shorting him on years or if he believes that he's going to get$8M per from Portland/Toronto? Otherwise, it seems clear that he shouldn't be insulted by the Lakers offer when none of the other top teams in the NBA areoffering more.
Power moves. Thats what Cleveland is making this off-season. He can come off the bench for Lebron and our team wont miss a beat. Mid-level is exceptional but I say go for the 1 year Ferry. Ariza has played on multiple teams over a short span of time. I say use him the same way you would Shaq.

Yeah, clearly Ariza is going to sign a 1-year deal to help out the Cavsinstead of taking $30M from the Lakers or $40M from Portland/Toronto.

Shoot, if Ariza's so good that he can come off the bench for Lebron and Cavs won't miss a beat, the Lakers should be looking to trade Kobe!
funny how the tune changes when he's headed outa town..
Like you were saying this when he was playing well during the playoffs. Bitter Laker fans.....
These comments don't make sense. Why would we be talking about how much Ariza should get during the playoffs? Every Laker fan still wantsAriza back, but not at a price higher than the MLE.

Lakers fans mentioned Ariza's lack of dribbling skills and one-on-one defense, but the biggest concern was winning and he was helping so why would youexpect the same critique you see here in a playoff game thread?

So he's worth 5.6 but not worth 8?

The thing with Ariza is, he's young. His O is improving, can knock down the 3 ball, and is a lengthy defender.
MLE is a low ball offer.
act_mickael_pietrus.jpg

Pietrus wants you to be his agent because he's only making $5M-per-year.
Plus he basically won the Lakers the 'ship with his scoring bunches.

IMO, let LO walk. He doesn't show up half the time for games, and he's getting older. You've already invested so much in Bynum, and he's basically un tradeable at this point, so, make him earn his keep. A Bynum (if he gets back on track) and a Gasol front court is enough to get it done.
Odom is insurance for an injury to either Bynum or Gasol. Odom can bring the ball up court under pressure (just don't ask him to check theball in). Odom is probably second to Walton in getting Bynum and Gasol the ball. Odom can also play the 3 so if Bynum does earn his keep, the Lakers moveOdom to the 3 as a starter or they bring him off the bench because Bynum's defensive presence (again, if he earns his keep) off sets Walton's lack ofpresence.
But some are acting as if they could've locked up both Ariza and Odom this offseason.
Well, if the Lakers are going to chase Artest with the MLE after signing Odom, couldn't they have signed both Odom and Ariza? Yes.
As Of Now. Im hearing that if Ariza Leaves, we're tryna replace him with either Artest, Prince, im even hearing STAT and Zach Randolph (which would have him being trading twice in one week like Q-Rich).
Where are you "hearing" this from? Who are they trading to get Prince, Stat, or Randolph?
This dude Ariza was more of a factor in shutting down Hedo, Orlando's biggest playmaker and big shot artist
Hedo had his best shooting (FG% and 3P%) and scoring round of the playoffs in the Finals.
^false. odom stated that he would take an paycut to maintain this core.
Odom has no choice but to take a pay cut. We'll see how much of a cut he's actually taken soon enough.

He had that huge 3rd quarter and DFish closed the deal which wrapped up the series. Trevor is younger than Pietrus and stays active on the defensive end thoughwith his length. Dude stay getting steals
