i don't wear a suit but yea for work I wear black dress pants a white long sleeve dress shirt and vest, and yes I wear gym shorts underneath. Not for any basketball reason but as some have explained it's just the natural feel now. To not have any would feel foreign and weird.

Or keep them in your backpack.  I've never just been walking around and suddenly a full court game of basketball pops off and I have 5 seconds to get ready.  If I'm playing ball, I either know about it ahead of time and I'm ready, or you keep a change of clothes in your car.  Undershirts I can understand and I wear... but a pair of gym shorts UNDER cargo shorts or jeans?  Can't do it.  I understand if people are used to doing it from when they're little, but you could get over it pretty quickly if you wanted to.
