I went with the iPhone 5s this time around for my upgrade but I'm still an avid android fan. Part of it had to do with Verizon being awful with the updates. It became a deal breaker for me until I'm on my own plan once I graduate college. Prob switch over to AT&T

And for the record, HTC was one of the first, if not THE first on the manufacturers side to get 4.3 pushed to the carriers. To my understanding, Samsung has been slow with 4.3

To be honest I'm never really thirsty for the latest Android OS so I have no need for a Nexus device and since I'm with Verizon it hardly ever happens anyway. I'm not rooting or ROM'ing either..been there done that it bores me. My phone is my tool and it works as such as is.

I would be elated if the N5 dropped Tuesday since I get paid then :lol . That $30 T-Mobile unlimited data, text, and 100 mins plan is calling my name .

Will the Nexus 5 be able to work with Sprint?
2. Nexus 5 will address the Nexus 4's lack of LTE support
The Nexus 5 looks set to have LTE support. FCC filings and the service manual indicate Google will remedy the lack of LTE connectivity that hampered the Nexus 4 in its successor. With 4G networks lighting up across the world, a bringing out a new smartphone in 2013 without LTE support would be a major omission, and Google has recently brought out an LTE-equipped variant of the Nexus

So does the fact that it supports CDMA mean that I can buy the N5 and activate it on Sprint?

I can't speak for anyone else but the GNex was perfect for me because it just "worked". My S2 was a far superior phone from a tech perspective but god awful GPS, constant crashes, Samsung driver issues and carrier interference was too much for my tastes.

For me at least, I doubt I'll have a non-Nexus device again just because the price and reliability of nearly no issues is my main concern. I'm not a hardcore gamer, photog or benchmark guy so specs are just specs for me.

If that Pantech is legit I'll gladly give credit, just like how LG has gone from a running gag on here to an actual player

Went into the Sprint store and one of the tech guys was showing us his Galaxy Gear and the Note 3, i walked out the store highly impressed. Still not worth it at $299, but if it was half that i'd buy it instantly. The camera on the watch is surprisingly good. video quality and stills

whenever this new nexus drop I hope it isn't a repeat of last year's drop. Not trying to wait months to cop this if I miss the first wave.

For those with the newer Nexus 7, how is it as an e-reader, particularly the Kindle app?

My mom left her Kindle Fire at the hotel and naturally the housekeepers didn't turn it in... and she checked her account and two Chinese books were downloaded before she could deactivate it :{ :lol I know Amazon is about to release their new Kindle Fire HDX and they have a cheaper version of the Kindle Fire HD.. but I'm considering the Nexus 7 as a replacement.

She didn't buy any tv shows or movies from Amazon on it so it was mostly the books and apps... but Amazon's app store is weak compared to the Play Store and she already has a GNex so she should manage on the Nexus 7 just fine.

Personally, I think tablets in general aren't very good as e-readers. Get a dedicated one if your mom uses the device primarily for books.

Anyone having trouble applying themes with themer? I reset all my DPI setting but still cant apply themes.

The screen on the N5 is 5 inches right? With the buttons taking up space at the bottom its more like 4.8 or something? Wish they used the same size as the G2, to me that was perfect.

Oh no doubt, but she managed to read on the Kindle Fire just fine and we even got her a plain Kindle but she ended up exchanging it for the Fire.
