Yeah if samsung manages to hide all the front sensors and speaker behind the screen and become bezeless with all four edges of the screen curved. Would look futuristic as hell

What is cool about the Samsung S-series is they drop in price within a few months. You should be able to get one for a few hundred off by the summer

a review of sorts....

After spending a weekend with my Pixel 3 XL, the thought of using any other phone doesn't interest me. There was a time when I tried out almost every flagship phone out there. Now I don't know why I would. Yes, the notch sucks, but I'm not dumb enough to let something like that ruin an otherwise brilliant experience.

The Pixels, even going back to the first generation, just work. Everything acts as I want it to. Google's vision of their OS is the only one that appeals to me anymore. Everything other skin feels heavy or clunky. While the gesture navigation needs a little work, I am glad Google copied the fantastic navigation on the iPhone X. I'm not an iPhone guy, but the navigation on the X is wonderful! In my opinion, iMessage and the navigation are the only things Android users have to be envious of. The camera and its new features are fantastic too. Top Shot, the ability to choose the best shot after a picture has been taken, is amazing. If you have kids, this feature is brilliant. Active Edge, the ability to squeeze the sides to launch your Assistant, is great. Never has a feature gone from " it's a gimmick" to "can't imagine not having it" so quickly. I use the hell out of Google Assistant. The new call screening feature is holy **** amazing. The very first call I received on my 3 XL was spam. Screening that call alone, made me a believer. The haptic feedback is also better than any other Android phone I have ever used. It's a lot better. Not iPhone 6,7,8, and X great, but a huge improvement.

Google has nailed the display this year as well. Last year's "but the screen isn't great" is this year's "but that notch" for me- it wasn't enough for me to dismiss a great phone. The phone feels every bit as premium for me as the S9 or the iPhone X. In fact, holding it feels very similar in shape to the X. There are no gaps or anything like that. It just feels good. The etched glass looks cool. The black looks more two toned than last year's because of it. My only complaint with this process is that by using etched glass to achive the two-toned look, it also robs you of the possibility of a Panda scheme. Oh well.

Like I said, everything works as it should. And everything looks how I want it to without supplemental launchers or whatever. I noticed that every time I tried a different flagship the first thing I had to do was make it as close to a Pixel as possible. Then I realized there really is no point in that if I can have a damn Pixel. More stuff doesn't really mean better experience.

The Pixel 3 is my iPhone. You know how every iPhone user at your office can't imagine not having their iPhone? That's me with my Pixel. The Pixel does exactly what I need it to do out of the box. It might not have all of the "exciting" bull**** that the Notes or the Galaxy phones have, but that doesn't matter to me. 3 rear facing cameras, folding displays, and in-screen fingerprint readers don't excite me because I know that they will come on phones that will annoy me daily. It's the smoothest Andoid experience there is. Of course I will look at the new phones coming out- especially the 6t. But I'm so damn content with this phone...the same way iPhone users are content with their phones.

Also, Not Pink is cool

I love the pixels too but Google hardware quality control is trash. Nexus 6P had battery issues and starting cutting off at 20%.Pixel XL usb connector burnt and got the run around from google support for like 2 weeks. These are on phones that werent even a year old.

Picked up a Note 8 for $600 when Google was slacking. I'm more inclined to buy a Nokia/HMD device at this point than a Google phone.

That's unacceptable, but those were made by Huawei.

I've been a Samsung hater for a few years now, but damn. If the final version is even close to this I might have to consider grabbing one

safe to assume the base price would be well over 1000. if they pull this off and it presents with solid functionality, it would definitely raise the bar. However, I think it's a problem when phones start approaching laptop prices. I can understand that the capabilities of a phone today have really narrowed that gap between phone and full computer, but i mean...it's still one or the other. it's crazy to think now that a mobile phone is so much more than what it was when i got my first cell (soph/jr of hs, an LG VX flip joint). but at some point i gotta draw the line with cost vs value.

majority of my computing is done on desktop, so i've never been one to jump on the $1000 phone train. hence why i've been rollin with oneplus.

I can also appreciate while I may not like these 900, 1000+ phone prices, people are still buying them. if people willing to buy it, might as well secure the bag. word to balenciagas and all yeezy apparel.

...gotta say tho, samsung knows how to design a ******* phone. always wished they'd get it together with software, but hardware? they've been pretty money.

^ i agree but the software doesnt bother me cuz i rock with nova prime launcher so im straight... the hardware is pretty good though just wish they had better cameras like the pixel... samsung has good cameras but they can be better... to put it in perspective $1000 phone is like a car payment or rent for the crib :smh:

$1000 car payment?! :lol

no not necessarily just saying $1000 for a phone is more than a car payment... my friend put no money down on his $50,000 truck and pays 650 a month

yukon denali... he was making 72k at his job for like less than a year then got laid off... then got another job making 56k... i was like yo man thats too much bread for a car payment per month :smh:... and one time he was unemployed this summer and his whole unemployment check went to the car... forget bills and all that... that had to wait for the next check

How he lose 2 jobs within a year!!!
He out here working like tommy!!

Even with 0% percent interest a 50K car loan for 72 months is 737.

The average car payment in America is $523 and 72K is double the average salary so if old dude ain't got kids that car note doesn't sound crazy to me at all.

I trying to figure out what bills yall got to where you can't pay a $600 car note on 72K a year.

ya hes doing 72 months... but he got a crib that he pays for half the mortgage with his bro....when he made 72k he bought the truck since he was making good money... now he got 56k so maybe hes still straight with everything... me personally i aint buying no whip for that much... but to each their own i guess

I'd lean towards the note 9 unless you absolutely need the best camera. You'll save a few dollars and get more features
