Evo does for free but you have to install cyanogen 

False. You could just root it and install "wireless tether".

It breaks down ALL the characteristics of each phone. Man Android is screwed up if all this research needs to be done. Its damn hard for consumers to pick a device. I know options are cool but this is kinda crazy.

Currently in the process of installing liberty 1.5 but have a question, is it okay to delete 1.0 off my memory card now that I will be running 1.5?

A t-mobile rep told me the G2 is capable of doing so as well but I don't have first hand experience
T-Mobile is offering a bunch of smartphones for free over this weekend
G2 might be one of them
