^He really did :lol

We're playing great without Nene.. this small ball lineup is a lot quicker and faster, we have way better spacing and ball movement. Hopefully we can keep our foot on the gas in the 4th and just break them

Good lord Beal looks like a freakin scrub tonight.. he is KILLING us. Sit his ***, please

Wall has some terrible turnovers tonight. He cannot hold onto the rock at all.

Wiz have pissed away multiple chances to put this game away.

That goaltending call on Wall's block hurt, the Derozan travel to force OT hurt too.

They better not waste Gortat's best performance. He is giving it his all.

WHOO LORD!!! Thank you, we needed that win bigtime!!

Wall is a superstar :hat

5 in a row :hat :hat :hat

Career high for Gortat with 31 and Wall with 31 as well. Huge win and the win streak continues!

Wall had that man Pyscho T on skates. Eyes got huge when he saw the switch.

Game of the year so far for me. Never a dull moment with these guys.

On to Philly with another winnable game.

That was the most entertaining (and simultaneously frustrating :lol :{) game they've played all season. Awesome to see them fight the whole game.

I think the O looked better without Nene 8o

Big win, but I can't accept the way they're doing Otto right now.  Randy's been giving him the Darko treatment all year.  Gortat and Ariza foul out, suddenly Randy plays a lineup of Wall, Beal, Booker, Temple... and Andre Miller.

If Otto can't play in that situation, he's never going to play while Randy is head coach.  If that's the case, he's better off in the d league.  At this rate, they're just going to destroy his confidence - and for what?  A couple more wins - if that?

This is a clear conflict of interests.  Randy's worried about Randy's contract and clearly doesn't give a damn about player development.  Similarly, Ernie's worried about Ernie's contract and doesn't give a damn about the long term.

A competent, involved owner has to step in here and say, "I want our team to make the playoffs, but as a means to better season and improve our team.  Your job this year is to lay the groundwork for a championship contending team.  That's how you'll be evaluated.  We've invested heavily in our young guys and I expect them to show progress."

As it is, Randy relies SO heavily on Trevor Ariza that, barring major changes to the front office, it's CERTAIN to bite us this summer.  The team is unprepared for life without him, and goodness knows we've now forfeit any leverage we might have had in contract negotiations.  Randy's Wizards need Ariza more than Ariza needs the Wizards.  This should've been a transition year to groom Otto as our future starter.  Instead, we've absolutely buried him to further the careers of a middling, go-nowhere head coach and a bungling general manager.

If Otto doesn't pan out, he doesn't pan out - but we can't even say we gave him an honest chance right now.

Ottos injury definitely derailed his early development. This has truly been a lost season for him. He never had time to gel with the guys and develop any chemistry. Meth js right about the over reliance on Ariza and I hope the front office doesn't sell the farm for him. There is a reason he has been on so many teams.

Player development has never been a specialty for this organization.

Man how otto come along so slowly, i legit was expecting him to average 5 or 7 points a game this season, Ariza balling out in a contract year too who woulda guessed it, so when he bolts next season we are gonna have to throw porter into the fire without any real experience this year

Glad to see we hit that run we were waiting for,

Another recurring problem I have with Wittman, he's not bringing Beal along correctly.

Bradley has been playing terribly as of late, why not let Webster more of his minutes? It's not like there's a huge dropoff from Beal to Webster. He's riding Beal too hard and giving him too much of a role in the offense, no team that depends that much on a 20-year old SG is going to get anywhere.

Beal is basically a role player right now, his job should be to play off Wall and take open shots to space the floor, and occasionally create something off the dribble. It's like Wittman thinks Beal is prime Kobe or something.. he has no type of leash whatsoever. I guarantee if we had a veteran coach like Popovich or Thibs, they wouldn't hesitate to sit Beal when he's playing poorly and instruct him to focus on taking efficient shots, not overdribbling, and playing fundamental defense. That's how young players learn and grow.

Coaching is so important. I can't see this team going anywhere if Wittman is extended, I really can't. And if Grunfeld is extended I don't know if I'll be able to follow the team anymore

As many have said, Otto's time is going to be next season. Personally, I just don't understand the rationale behind not sending him to the D-League. He needs some sort of PT if he's not going to get it in an NBA game. I just hope his career arc somewhat mirrors Tayshaun Prince (statistically). His rookie #'s were awful, but then became a double-digit scorer by his 2nd season. Frankly, Otto isn't good enough right now to get NBA minutes. I have ZERO issue with him not playing, but I still have hope for him. It's just crazy that he's been so slow to progress for someone who was labeled "most ready NBA prospect" in the draft last year.

I'm just curious as to the direction the team will go in the offseason as far as what they do w/ their SFs.

Martell will most likely be back.
Ariza's status is up in the air.
We don't know what we have w/ Porter.

Is Martell good enough to be our starter next year with Otto being his backup? Those are pretty much the questions I have.

Personally, I don't think Ariza will ever be better than what he's playing right now. I just hope that we aren't the team that overpays for his services. If we do re-sign him, you'd have to think that Otto is a goner.

Hindsight is 20/20, but this team would have been MUCH better off with Nerlens Noel in the fold.

Yea if Otto isnt going to get mins this year the Wiz might as well drafted Nerlens for next season...N i agree that management is doing Otto dirty by not sending him to the D league to get some mins but i have no problem with Whitman not playing him....Otto isnt better than Ariza or Webster right now so there is no reason for him to see the floor except injuries and extreme circumstances of course...just cuz he was a top 5 pick doesnt mean he has to get into the rotation for a team thinking about the playoffs

The decision to not have Otto go to the D-League is confusing b/c of the approach they are taking w/. GRJR. And FWIW, dude has been dominant in his stint in the D-League this season.

My thoughts exactly. I assumed Otto would get some burn this season. If we weren't going to play the 3rd overall pick then we should have just picked Nerlens. Otto needs to be sent to the D league so he can gain some confidence. Letting him rot on the bench is pointless.
