THE ETERNALS Will Change The Marvel Cinematic Universe Forever

When Kevin Feige was asked whether or not the planned movie will tie into Greek mythology in the way Jack Kirby envisioned when he created the characters, he said: "Well, one of the cool things about that property and what Jack Kirby did with it and what’s been done with it in recent years is it does tie into they’re called Eternals, they’ve been around for a long time. There’s this notion of all of these myths and legends that we know from ancient times, were they inspired by the Eternals?"

What this means is that we could finally see the likes of Hercules and Ares introduced to the MCU, not to mention a retcon of sorts for the early days of mankind. "Were they Eternals? It’s a very … you know, it’s an ancient aliens kind of sci-fi trope that we think would be fun to explore someday," he teased, seemingly making it clear that these characters are essentially replacing the Inhumans!

When Screen Rant recently asked Feige about the possibility of A-Force, he admitted that he's "cagey about anything post-Avengers 4."

However, he did say the following about where he expects things to go with Marvel's female heroes:

"But, as the plan goes forward I think frankly we'll be ... you know, eventually I think we're going to reach a time where it's not just ... listen, it would be amazing to see all of our female characters the way we have seen ... most, never all male, but primarily male. I think we're getting to the point soon where we have so many great female characters that those are just our heroes as opposed to when are they all female, all male. It's just the Marvel heroes, more than half of which will be women."

Black Panther was an instant success for Marvel. First, it broke the company’s first-day presale ticket records, out-earning The Last Jedi over its four-day opening weekend. Then, it nabbed the biggest February debut of all time. It’s pulled in more than $1 billion in worldwide box office totals alone, and it currently stands as the highest-grossing film by a black director. Now, its legacy will also include an appearance in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.

The museum announced that it will display the costume worn by star Chadwick Boseman and designed by Oscar-nominated designer Ruth E. Carter from October 24th to October 27th, during its first African American Film Festival. “Black Panther is the first superhero of African descent to appear in mainstream American comics, and the film itself is the first major cinematic production based on the character,” the museum says. “Black Panther illustrates the progression of blacks in film, an industry that in the past has overlooked blacks, or regulated them to flat, one-dimensional and marginalized figures. The film, like the museum, provides a fuller story of black culture and identity.”

Along with Boseman’s costume, the museum will feature a shooting script signed by co-writer and director Ryan Coogler, producer and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, executive producer Nate Moore, and co-writer and producer Joe Robert Cole. Attendees will also be able to see two pages of the spec script and 24 high-resolution production photographs. The Smithsonian also reports that it’s in the final stages of making the costume exhibit a permanent one in the museum.

Curator Rhea Combs praised the film’s powerful black characters, especially in regard to its female characters. “It was also nice to see women in dynamic warrior roles, as well as adept in the sciences and technology,” Combs says. “These are images many audiences have longed to see in mainstream films, but for too long haven’t.”

I think when Feige wants to use them they'll all be recast and by then it'll be explained and clear to fans the tv shows and movies are no longer connected.

Or the Inhumans in that show were secretly Skrulls.

Elizabeth Olsen and Other ‘Avengers’ Actors Found Out About ‘Infinity War’ Ending the Day They Filmed It

Imagine learning your long-running character is going to die and then being told to go film said death. According to Elizabeth Olsen, that’s exactly what happened to her and many other members of her “Avengers: Infinity War” cast. During her appearance at Ace Comic-Con (via ScreenRant), Olsen said directors Anthony and Joe Russo broke the news about her death just hours before she was scheduled to film the scene. Olsen was told about the death in a van, no less.

“I found out from the Russos exactly what was going to happen and it wasn’t until we shot it on that day we learned what the ending was,” Olsen said. “They took us into a van—all of us—we were in a van with air conditioning because it was very hot and they told us how the movie was going to end and no one knew. And they were like, ‘Now we’re shooting it, go!’ and we were like ‘How are we supposed to interpret that?’”

All in all, Ant-Man and the Wasp represents Marvel Studios at its best. The movie balances exciting action, well-timed humor, and a heartfelt emotional storyline to great effect, letting the heroes shine in their own unique way while also tying the movie into the larger MCU. After the weighty and stuffed team-up that was Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp provides a return to form for Marvel.

If this movie is actually made idc what others think or say this is a FU to DC. Yeah, Brolin opened the door for new possibilities but he was a one off 2 movie villain. Plus its a mute point given Disney is acquiring Fox.

But even if the weren't, its different. Just look at the optics. One dude goes from a successful movie studio to a successful movie franchise. The other goes from a studio thats been getting trashed and where he may feel undermined due to reception and the spinoff of the same character hes playing by another actor to go to Sony's Spider-Man spinoff movie universe. Complete unknown. Hes following Hardy's path but at least he snagged a very popular character that sold off appearance alone.
