Bruh, Venom, specifically Eddie Brock Venom's story history has no depth. There are no classic stories. There is barely enough good stories let alone any worth repeating.
There's the stuff fans like when he had a grudge against Spidey, then the stuff in concept they like about that, and then nothing.
After that Eddie goes anti-hero as we all know and his comics were being made strictly cuz of the art and/or design draw of the costume and the fact that it was the 90s.
Given Spidey isn't the main antagonist in this they have to go straight to Carnage. Otherwise its a movie about a super powered even more unhinged, eat your brains unhinged, Punisher. And a dash of religious stuff stolen from DD.
Its why Marvel really tried with different hosts with either making Venom a villain (Scorpion) or hero (Flash).
Given this is Tom Hardy though, I can totally see Sony just jacking Flash's Agent Venom steez and applying it to Brock. Brock sorta turned in to that when he picked up a bunch of sonic guns and flamethrowers when he started hunting symbiote cuz "they were a plague on humanity".
Them writers can come up with something good for the first movie but they'll be scrambling in other areas.
Man Tombstone is a black guy. Albino but still a black guy.

The classic story is the creation of Venom itself. With the right buildup, a Carnage story could've been done right. Jumping straight to Carnage, when Venom isn't evem gonna be fleshed out all that much lessens the importance of Carnage by associatiom. Sure it's the go to choice, but it just makes the job harder on their part to tell this story when it already was

That would actually be really cool and a nice way to have old suits show up. ****, he could send characters backwards in their timelines to show old suits and forward to hint at future possibilities, such as King Thor.
