I don't think that African Americans hate themselves. Many do support and uplift each other without having to react negatively to others. There are successes and failures in every race. I think that some posters here hate or, at the very least, are apathetic to the struggles and needs of anyone who isn't African American.

Maybe a dumb question..but as an outsider, would an African-American face any problems with the Latino or Black community being in Compton? The reason I ask is because I haven't been to Compton since 2007, but I'm going back this summer. (Some great food places in CPT)

I know you gotta stay aware, but I wonder how much has changed.

My cousin Mexican and got shot in the head in Compton (he lived, bullet went in behind his jaw and out his cheekbone) by the foos from a hood there. So, F them and that wack a** city. But yeah, sayin too much, and yeah the S*** been goin on.

the railroad system was primarily built by mexicans too, especially once america decided to get rid of all of the chinese do to our constant xenophobia. who do you think maintained those trains and railroad tracks? who do you think worked in all of those agricultural and industrial jobs?

Also, of course Latinos generally want what's best for their families and communities, as does the majority of people of any background. I don't understand why y'all are making it seem as though this trait is somehow unique to Latinos...

it's not unique in them but they have to work harder than the typical american due to their low education and lack of resources and opportunities.
and by them i mean mostly the immigrants whose only option is those low wage/high manual labor jobs

perhaps you should dig deeper about the true history of our country and what an important role latinos have played and still do play in it, since you seem to not be well informed about it from your other posts, and based on these comments. take a chicano/latino history class, i've seen a few black dudes in those classes before.
that suggestion isn't only for you though, since it seems that alot of dudes on here would benefit from such a class

Bro, it was never my intention to turn this into a Black versus Latino issue but the comments made by some people in here speaking "on behalf" of Latinos have been ignorant and insulting. America obviously has an extensive history of discrimination against anyone that was deemed "not white" since before the country was officially founded. If I came off another way, my apologies, but please save it with the take a class talk, I've done extensive research on racial discrimination in all forms in this country and not everything you said in your post is even accurate in that sense, but I digress...

What type of thing is that to say to someone? These statements are just as derogatory as Ninja's.As I said before, I can't defend his previous statements in this thread, he already attempted to do that himself. I have never seen him say anything derogatory towards "blacks" or African Americans before that. It has become a recurring theme amongst certain posters around here lately to downplay the struggles of anyone who isn't African American, and to jump to conclusions concerning race.
