For me, they aren't comfortable. Denim is heavier and stiffer than khaki shorts, cargo shorts, etc.

that seems to be the main discussion aside from the weight of the material.
the wide leg joints (i.e. Sean John/Rocawear style) from years ago are the hated type....
i used to rock those as well.... i just got bored and cut up some jeans, people seem to like them.... grey pair on deck...
