Wrestling Thread Mar 12-18 | 3/18 TNA Victory Road PPV - Roode vs Sting, Angle vs Hardy

I enjoyed it for what it was.
Cena should stop criticizing The Rock's lack of appearances and get on the bandwagon.
If Cena only showed up a single digit amount of times a year, I'd mark for him every damn time.

I found tonight RAW extremely entertaining. It had its highs and lows, but $!$$. It was all interesting.

Cena Rap was decent
Decent Sheamus/Ziggler match
HBK/Taker furthered the storyline/feud
Punk/Miz was a standard match, good use of the Jerchio promo to make us care, and add some emotion to the feud
LOLRYDER/EVE
Meh wasn't happy Funk was a squash
Swagger got some good offense vs Orton (BUT HE GOT BURRED THOUGH)

But yet, I swear if Micheal Cole came out and jacked off for two hours you guys would be less upset.

Maybe you guys take WWE to seriously, I still find the magic inside, and so did the crowd. But every time I see people over react and cry over EVERYTHING that happens non-stop I wonder why I come here on Mondays/Fridays/PPV.
Ditto.

Some of yall seem to be hating and complaining just for the sake of hating and complaining.

True though. Like how we marked for his thuganomics tonight.

I'm not crazy about it.  The "Who is the Best in the World" story has seemingly been dropped.  It hasn't been mentioned for two weeks.  Not by Punk or Jericho.  Not by the announcers.  I thought that was a great storyline and a very solid way of putting meaning behind the WWE Title.  Maybe it will come back next week, but from what I'm hearing, the final two weeks will focus on this more personal feud rather than who is the best.
Punk hasn't even had a chance to speak the past two weeks.  I know we still have two week of Raw left, but this is the WWE Title Match and Punk is arguably the best talker in the company.  The match is really getting lost behind Rock/Cena and Taker/HHH/HBK.  At least Bryan and Sheamus have Smackdown where they come across as the most important match.

I think the whole alchaholic father thing will add more in the ring as well. You can have both men out wrestle each other for the claim of best in the world then have them just brawl at certain areas to showcase the anger from the personal problems.

But as soon as that segment ended I couldn't help but think of south park and the W.T.F lol.

As if it was any surprise at all, Zack Ryder was stood up by Eve after RAW.

- As seen on RAW last night, Zack Ryder and Eve Torres made a dinner date for after the show. Eve apparently stood Ryder up as Ryder posted several tweets waiting for her to arrive. He wrote:
“Waiting on @EveMarieTorres to show up for our date. It’s gonna be #SSSIIICCCKKK

Didn't he destroy legacy by himself?

Hopefully Vince comes back post Mania and teams up w/Cena and to go after HHH and culminating in a no holds barred handicap match at Night of Champions in Boston on 9/16 w/ShaneO'Mac as special guest referee.

For what its worth, when I bought my tickets to the late April Raw in Dayton they were advertising Cena vs. Kane in a last man standing match..So maybe the whole Cena/Kane/Ryder/Eve thing is just being put on hold til after Mania..

- Didn't see Punk/Miz nor the Taker/HBK/HHH segment
- Thuganomics Cena was good, even though it was irritating when Cole kept referring to Cena as "old school Attitude" or something
like that. That was 2001 and back Cole, not 2003.
- Who would have thought Otunga would be the most legit Nexus/NXT guy at this point (regardless of Barrett being out) ???
- Rock's concert was great up until that ending. I was cringing the whole time. The part when he asked "are there any older male
Cena fans?" then proceeded to run them down

That one fan hid his face with his sign

- Ryder still simpin with "Practice" being played in the background

A few thoughts:
Rock/Cena:

-The Rock Concert, overall, was good. However, nobody can believe that the karaoke at the end was necessary came off as corny. Word Life John Cena was such a money character, he was insanely over (back then), which is what eventually turned him into the Super Man Cena we sadly grew to hate. I forgot who said it, but whoever said John comes off as much more natural in that role, hit it right on the head. Funny how Cena has come off as real and natural talking about "real stuff" and Rock is coming off as corny reciting all the catchphrases, getting things to "trend," etc... Almost as if the two have switched roles.

HHH/Undertaker:

- At first I was skeptical about how the match came to be, but I jumped to conclusions too early and am fully behind it now. Loved the way HBK/HHH walked off the stage with smirks on their faces as if to say "Got 'em!" Plays the illusion that Undertaker has no chance of winning at all. HBK is so screwing over HHH at 'Mania, but the build up to that point should be epic.

Punk/Jericho:

- Kinda indifferent about bringing in the alcoholic father subject. On the one hand, like 4w said it was kind of just thrown in there without any build up and kind of caught everybody off guard, not to mention it does sort of take away from the WWE Championship. However, I do love the fact that Jericho was able to get at the "untouchable" CM Punk. Punk's character (hell, even in real life), comes off as an arrogant bastard who is better than everybody else, always has been. I may be wrong, but I can't really think of a time where Punk was made to seem "vulnerable" because of personal demons, sort of humanized him in a way. Well done.

- Good to see Vince let Brodus expand his moveset during his time off

- I pray for my dude Miz to be drafted to SmackDown! Already, Drew McIntyre looks stronger than him at this point

- Eve is gorgeous.

First thing I thought of.. when Jericho was cutting the promo..
- I'm starting to think they need something that extreme to save the angle, I would be all for it. Jericho could pull it off like when he was beating up the legends in 2009. The WWE title match should be important and great.
- Bryan is genius, Sheamus now bores me. Either way they don't care about that title at all.
- Rocky was great tonight, I can forgive the terrible sing along.
- Cena was awesome, far and away my favourite things he's done in years. That Cena I could get behind...

Good show overall though.

EDIT: I don't like having HBK as the ref, it's not needed at all. Devalues the streak if he does anything during the match.

Overall, Raw was thoroughly enjoyable and there were no bad segments.Instead of picking and complaining about how everything could be done better, we should all be appreciative of this as this is how the WWE is supposed to be during Wrestlemania season.I am even enjoying the Big Show/Cody program and the Orton/Kane stuff. Because they aren't about stupid #!@$ and are actual undercard wrestling feuds which are few and far between these days.Really looking forward to WM28

I agree Yard, I thought the show overall was pretty solid and enjoyable..Like everyone else I think the sing a long stuff at the very end backfired, but other than that it was good show..

I'm really liking how they're building the UT/HHH angle..Nice old school way to build up the intensity and get fans caring about who's going to win..

Don't know how I feel about the drunk father thing though..Regardless of whether it's true or not, it just seems kinda forced to me..Maybe if they'd have stared it a few weeks ago instead of this close to Mania..Could end up working out and if anyone would be able to pull it off its Jericho..
