WWE SUMMERSLAM PPV 8/20 8PM ET - HHH V BROCK LESNAR | PUNK V CENA V SHOW P27

It's probably a good thing the keep the titles on Sheamus (:rolleyes) and Punk, so they can actually build Ziggler with the MITB, or else we'd get another Jack Swagger reign where he's putting on good matches but losing every one of them.

Did this Summerslam actually feel bigtime to anybody? Just seemed underwhelming to me. I'd give it a 6.5-7/10, but that's not really what you want from 1 of your major PPVs.

Didn't feel big time at all, that was one problem.

I was at this show - The Fred Durst incident with the middle finger was interesting. About 5 minutes after he was shown, he was escorted backstage with a kid he was with (assuming it was his son?). Overall, not impressed by the show and results. The crowd was so-so, except for the Kobe chants. Looking forward to seeing tonight's show.

- We noted before that The Ultimate Warrior is a rumored name for the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame. People who are close to Warrior have been saying that they believe Warrior would accept the induction, no question.

Friends of Warrior are now saying that he realizes he doesn’t have many chances left and has been training for a potential return to the ring for WWE. Word is that Warrior is interested in a Hall of Fame induction and one more match.

When asked about interest on WWE’s side, a WWE source believes that WWE would definitely be interested but adds that nothing is being talked about that he knows of and he doubt it would happen in 2013 but anything is possible.

- Chris Sabin is another TNA wrestler who has a contract expiring soon. Dixie Carter has reportedly pushed for him to re-sign and that may have something to do with Sabin’s girlfriend (no word that they broke up) Velvet Sky possibly being brought back.

- TNA is planning on ending the Aces & 8s vs. TNA stars feud with a War Games type of match. They won’t be calling it War Games because WWE owns the rights to that name but a TNA source says they are going to try and copy WCW’s War Games as much as they can.

- Jack Swagger reportedly has some heat on him and that is why some may think he’s lost his push and been buried on WWE TV lately.

A source reports that Swagger’s heat comes from a number of failed marijuana tests. WWE does not suspend talents for smoking marijuana, just issues them a fine. The source adds that Swagger does not have the “get you fired” kind of heat.

- WWE reportedly has no long-term plans for Daniel Bryan right now. There is no heat on him or anything and creative is apparently trying to come up with something fresh for him.

- The Miz, Dolph Ziggler and Chris Jericho were praised for their three-way match on RAW last week.

Many within WWE are sad to see Jericho take time off again and even more are anxious to work with Ziggler and see where his push takes him.

- Vince McMahon was reportedly very close to firing AW on RAW several weeks back when he first did the Kobe Bryant rape joke. After going back and forth with people close to him, word is that Vince talked with AW and things calmed down. AW was allowed to keep his job until he posted the Linda McMahon tweet.

Word is that Stephanie McMahon actually talked Vince out of firing AW the first time. Stephanie reportedly wanted to keep the rape joke out of the mainstream media and firing AW that week would have given it more attention. When AW upset everyone again, she was one of the first to push for his release.

^Didn't AW mention Linda in a tweet after he was already fired?
Yes, which is why dirt sheets aren't always reliable.

I missed SummerSlam due to a family outing, but from what I've been reading I didn't miss much.

- Shawn Michaels continued tweeting about the Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H match after Summerslam. HBK noted that he was going to try and get a WWE satellite truck to his home for RAW so expect him to appear live via satellite.

- We noted before that WWE recently reached a settlement with the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) which allows them to use the WWF logo on older footage. WWE did this because of the amount of work and manpower it would take to blur years of footage for the WWE Network.

- We noted earlier that CM Punk and Bret Hart exchanged props on Twitter after SummerSlam. For those who missed it, Punk was paying tribute to Bret last night with his pink and black tights.

- Chris Jericho had a rough time making it to SummerSlam on Sunday. Following a Fozzy gig on Saturday night in Little Rock, Arkansas, Jericho’s flight to Los Angeles was canceled. Jericho ended up driving to Memphis, Tennessee from Little Rock and then catching a flight to Los Angeles in time for SummerSlam.

- Regarding Charlie Sheen not working SummerSlam, word is that WWE is still open to doing business with him but now they’re looking at having him back for WrestleMania 29 in 2013. WWE wanted Sheen for SummerSlam but the deal just couldn’t come together in time.

- At one point, there was talk of putting Randy Orton into the Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio match at SummerSlam but the idea was nixed. The feeling was that they didn’t need to beef up the World Heavyweight Title match because it wasn’t a main part of the show. Orton will likely be taking a bit of time off in less than 1 month to begin filming 12 Rounds: Reloaded.

- Antonio Cesaro vs. Santino Marella for the United States Title was originally considered for the SummerSlam main card but was moved to the pre-show to help bring viewers to the YouTube channel. WWE is looking to build Cesaro up longterm.

- We noted before that The Rock vs. John Cena II is a strong possibility for WrestleMania 29 next year. Word is that Vince McMahon is the main one who wants the rematch to take place.

- Word is that Brock Lesnar won’t wrestle again until the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November. Lesnar still has plenty of dates left on his contract.

- Nobody within WWE expects Triple H to really be retiring from in-ring competition. The feeling is that Triple H still has many matches left. He’s expected to go away for a few months and then come back for a rematch against Brock Lesnar, possibly at Survivor Series.

- For those wondering, the finish that happened in the Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus match at SummerSlam was indeed the planned finish all along. This was done to set up the World Heavyweight Title Match for September’s Night of Champions pay-per-view.

- As noted before, AJ Lee is promising consequences for Kane on tonight’s RAW after he assaulted Josh Mathews at SummerSlam. Apparently those consequences will be anger management sessions like Daniel Bryan had a few weeks back.

- WWE’s Executive Vice President of Television Production Kevin Dunn reportedly “blew a gasket” during SummerSlam when Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit fame flipped the camera off. Some fans are reporting that their pay-per-view feeds were on a delay as Durst’s middle finger was digitized.

Nothing like making the first trip to NT for the week & seeing a few GHIMS posts.

WWE reportedly made a $300,000 profit from the re-release of the "No Hold Barred" film, after spending $100,000 on production and marketing costs. This makes the re-release the third most profitable WWE DVD release in the past two years.

DUDE

THIS HAS BEEN POSTED LIKE 3 TIMES ALREADY.  I THINK YOU EVEN POSTED IT ONCE.  CHRIST.

Just because I beat your *** at NTSlam last night, don't take it out on the thread with your 2 week old news posts.

Your "news" items never cease to amaze me.

:lol :{ :lol @ them for cutting time from the WWE and Tag Team title matches just to make room for HHH's "standing ovation"

Lets say Warrior is confirmed for WM29.

The raw in which he appears will bring a high rating for that segment.

Who do u think he faces?

I'll say The Miz.
