Xbox One still worth buying?

Not too close to next gen console?

Halo 5 has been looking too lit

The price on the original xbox one is already plummeting. You should be able to get one for the low. If you game a lot, you should just get the xb1 s.

I've been doing research on gaming get PCs since I'm trying to build one in the near futre. It seems like consoles will never be on part with consoles with PCS just due to the fact there's always new stuff coming out. The 1070 and 1080 just releasedon't and I think there's already a new card coming out. I think the NEO and Scorpio will be big improvements over their predecessors but they'll still fall short compared to high end PCs.

Pretty much. From what I've read, by the time Scopio and NEO release, they'll be on par with what's high end right now. PCs will have jumped further ahead already.

Consoles need to be affordable for a mass market which is why they'll never be on par with gaming PCs.

Always wanted to put a gaming PC together. Dark rabbit hole to go down.

Will graphics be better ?

From my understanding, MS is pushing Scorpio to be a console version of a high end PC, on the strength of six teraflops, being able to play games in 4K at 60 FPS.

So yes, better graphics.

I'm wondering how big the difference will be for those who don't have 4K TVs.

I.E. BenQ Monitors.

I think at that point it just falls on the game producers to make a good looking game right? Because then it's not like the capabilities of the console are at fault for lack of stunning graphics?

Yes, but compare price points here.

A high end PC costs what, upwards of thousands of dollars? Scorpio which will likely be around $600 or less?

Balance the pros and the cons IMO.. PC Gaming has intrigued me a lot in my life but I don't think it's something I'll ever want to pursue just because console gaming does exactly what I need it to do. Game.

My guess would be that the upgrade may not be worth it for those without 4K capabilities.

With that being said, I would assume BenQ would start to roll out 4K HDR10 capable monitors within the next 12-16 months to keep up with the new consoles.

You really think a $600 console will be successful? Sony already tried with a $600 PS3 and MS tried with a $500 X1. I don't see the mass market paying that much for a system especially when the NEO will most likely be cheaper. NEO will be around 4.2 TFLOPs and Scorpio around 6.6?? I don't know if that's gonna be enough to convince the masses to spend $600 especially when both will still get your heavy hitter AAA titles.

If it stays a 1ms response time I'll probably hit the casino and win the money for a new monitor then.

But if it compensates screen lag for 4K then nah papi i can't roll like that.

You know, I didn't even think about the response time. I got used to a monitor and I'm not too sure I want to go back to a larger television, even it's 4K.

Yeah that's my only concern really. 4K prices will keep dropping as it becomes more and more common and standard, but I can't lose my 1ms response now. I'm too used to it.

Scorpio isn't gonna be $600. It'll be $399-$449. At most $500 but I doubt that. By the time it releases next holiday, parts will be cheaper and they will also be bought in bulk and MS might take a loss on each console sold. But the price isn't gonna be ridiculous
