If i buy a 1 year warranty, does it begin after microsofts own warranty or right after i bought the console.

Correct me if I'm wrong but nobody was going to stop used game sales. Microsoft wanted to create a used game licence marketplace. If that was successful we would be much better off in my opinion. gamestop is a joke $5 off for a used game that they paid 15 bucks for, I'd rather pay the 5 and buy it new. If you needed to sell your games I can't see it being much worse than the way they are sold now (gamestop)

When I say used games I also mean borrowed games. You couldn't just borrow a game from a friend because his copy would be tied to his account. You'd have to buy a license.

I'm no fan of GameStop and the policies wouldn't have affected me at all, but a lot of people don't feel that way

You could have digitally borrowed 10 friends games w// the family share but they had to kill it when they killed the 24 check in

That game thing was pure BS .... That's whats set the consoles from the PC's. The fact that you can take your games and play them anywhere you want is why people get consoles.

In addition, some of you are looking and basing this on purchasing games, when there are ton of people that rent game. This would of have affected them and the rental companies big time.

I'm glad people stood up - that was just the first steps of monopolizing the market ...

Since you're buying this console new, you can't purchase a 1 year warranty for it.

I'm pretty sure that you can only purchase 2-5 year warranty for the product that you're looking to buy.

Regardless all the warrantys begin on the date that you bought the console. 

However, if you need to file a claim within the first year of the warranty, squaretrade will direct you to the manufacture's warranty.

If the manufacture doesn't fullfill their warranty, squaretrade will let you use your warranty.

But to be fair sony did have the opportunity to see how the public reacted to MS's policies. And they did file drm patents

And technically they can do that. The consumer doesn't have to buy the product.

It was just a bad PR move. The Xbox is still a staple here in the US though, they won't struggle to sell it. Ultimately they made a good move by getting rid of the mess they created.

actually a few days ago I was trying to get the latest information in regards to what I have read and heard from the E3 show, hence the reason why my questions where specific.  ... Knowing is one thing, trying to see what changed is another ...

in regards to being digital or not, that's not a problem to me ... as long as you are able to downloaded to any console you log in without restriction - which is what Microsoft was trying to establish with the hard copies - imagen with digital .. there will be no point in having a console, all you'll need is a joystick for your computer  .. the reason why gaming consoles thrived was because of the portability and the being able to play your games anywhere unlike the computers ..... now shhhhh .... leave this for the grown ups .. smh!

Why would you believe game sharing was going to happen? MS announced it after they killed the DRM policy, if it such a killer feature why did take them forever to announce, and to announce it in a press release of what features we lost.

Currently MS (Terms of Service) bans people for game sharing
