Di Maria will go for 64 (poss extra 15 based on performance).. which is what Madrid paid for James.. imo the price is reflective of the market.. plus teams know united (like real, barca) have money. The days of 30 mil for a world class player are gone.. rumors circulating that united will push for Vidal but have NDJ and Blind as back ups with strootman coming in January.. I'm ok with both of those options.
The Dutchman played Kagawa as one of his two central midfielders during United's preseason tour of the United States.
But he said in his news conference at the Stadium of Light: "Kagawa did not wish to fulfil my wishes, my philosophy when I played him in the United States."
Juan Mata has been operating in Kagawa's preferred position behind the strikers and Van Gaal explained in July: "Kagawa was a No. 10 at [Borussia] Dortmund but I want to try him at No. 6 and No. 8."
Have you been living under a rock for a year?
I knew Kagawa would be a casualty
He royally got screwed when SAF bought RVP.
yet we both payed the same amount and we got the better player.. hmmmNo Madrid know that United are backed into a corner and are getting them to pay for the James deal, simple. United finished midtable and aren't in Europe so they just have to deal with the tag of overpaying for anybody to join them at this moment ESP leaving teams in CL.
The price jumped €15M more than what PSG were paying a month ago and turned down.
Mata was the nail in the coffinI knew Kagawa would be a casualty

biggest mystery in my mind right now regarding euro soccer is why kagawa never gets love from moyes/lvg.
I just dont get it
eiddy is correct, Kagawa had the likes of Sahin & Gundogan providing service from behind him at Dortmund that had much more sophisticated passing. Kagawa is more scorer than playmaker. He's great at finding space off the ball using quick turns & one-two passing combos with Goetze beside him & Lewa in front of him.
Once he came to OT, he immediately played a style that didn't suit him. Attacking from wide positions, quick wingers racing up the flanks & such. United didn't have the type of deep lying playmakers like Sahin & Gundogan forcing Kagawa to drop back to receive the ball.
I hope he finds his way back to Dortmund...
BTW, first day of school pic. My son wanted to wear his United shirt because it had his old number & name. Got this when WSS had that $24 promo deal on United shirts in honor of Giggs years with the team early this year...
Edit - got damn, that Dortmund team had a ton of talent didn't it? :x
