About the poll,doesn't Ronaldo have 25 goals in 14 games? He didn't play the match they lost to Sociedad iirc.

Real Madrid.

Had my favorite player at the time, Robinho.

The Barcelona bandwagon was insane at the time with Ronaldinho and Nike (similar to how Madrid is now) so I couldn't root for them.

And Fifa 07 was my first soccer game I played online, and after searching for my team I was straight slaughtering people with Madrid.
Word, I started following Citeh cuz of Robinho. Tevez too because I hopped on the Argentina wagon on the older FIFA games. Tevez and Crespo were nothing to mess with and FIFA 10 was my ishh :hat also went HAM with City

Ever since, I been a City fan, then the Sheiks money just kept on piling up :hat

Basically FIFA 08.

All my friends were picking 5 star teams (Chelsea, Man Utd, etc), I would go with Tottenham out of spite since they weren't rated nearly as high, 4.5 stars.

Keane and Berbatov were amazing... although they left that summer... you can imagine my delight when the Galaxy announced Keane's signing. I was lucky enough to attend his debut back in 2011

Rocked with em ever since, my pops living there for awhile was an added cherry on top. Although I didn't find this out until pretty recently

Yea, but games don't wait for Ronaldo. 38 total games will be played with or without him.

You have to add the amount of games Real has played until now, even if he's missed one.

Question,

I don't watch soccer much, but i like to start watching. So my question is how did you end up rooting for your favorite team or basically how did you choose your team?

my favorite team is manchester united, i had world cup 2010 fever and was home one day and saw united was playing rangers watched the game, saw valencia break his leg, thought it was cool so i just kept watching them whenever i could and became addicted

This is a copy and paste of my first post into this seasons thread on this lovely site
Chelsea FC (above all, plus when I first traveled to England I unknowingly stayed at there hotel, still have their hotel keycard

)

West Ham (after going to england several times and seeing their games, they were cheap tickets for being a non-season ticket holder and during the season. Their fans are great, atmosphere is so chill and welcoming and the bubbles are a nice effect)

Ajax (based on their history as one of the greats, their youth system, the players that came out of there I have to honor and love such a dope team)

Galatasaray (first semester of college had a turkish roommate, had nothing in common until one day he got excited in his room, cheering and what not, ask him what's up, turns out Gala scored in the Champions League on that wednesday and I was like
eek.gif
you love footy too?! bought us together

he is a huge Gala fan, grew up there and was part of the ultras and what not)

Super Mario Balotelli (obvious reasons)

Santos Laguna (born into it, I'm Mexican, no way I can leave)

French Players (Benz, Pogba, Zizou, Varane, etc.) (I feel that the best and underrated players are french. Also they'll soft spoken and make no headlines, keep to themselves but deliver results

)

De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Evans, Young, Carrick, Fellaini, Mata, Rooney, van Persie, Wilson

Lindegaard, McNair, Blackett, Herrera, Fletcher, Januzaj, Falcao

James Wilson... 433?  4312?

Haven't been watching as long as some of the other guys here, but Man Utd was the first Premiership team I got to see live during their summer tour here in 1997.  Naturally stuck with them.

But in terms of watching footy... I guess I can date back to the '86 World Cup... staying up into the wee hours watching selected televised matches.

When I was younger I didn't understand anything about the sport since I never played it or had anyone in my family. I didn't know what was going on, besides guys with short shorts kicking a ball and screaming GOOOOOLLL.

First time I remembered watching football was the 98 World Cup. My dad was never a club type of fan, just the players. He loved the players on that French NT, especially Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry. I remember catching Premier League games in the early 2000s and seeing a familiar face playing on a team that I thought was called Dreamcast/SEGA. I then became more confused when I seen that they changed their name to "O2". :rollin :rollin

Still... Liverpool's been the more aggressive team... not positive signs.  United waiting to counter.
