I dunno what to make of this... other than that blunder by Smalling, the formation hasn't looked as bad as I thought it would. The MF have had possession and created a few opportunities. At the same time, they've been caught out with someone like Fellaini with the ball on the counter-attack and not knowing what to do with the ball. Perhaps someone like Mata or even ADM in a more central role would be better?

Great possession but far too slow. The way their playing under this formation allows for way too much time for Newcastle to properly setup their defensive structure. I feel like Rooney could do with some better service via through-balls. I'm really hoping United don't revert back to hoofball shortly.
