You can't be talking about me because I don't dislike Russell Westbrook. Having said that, Russ isn't a looter. Nor are his stats empty. But you are right that framing matters and what EYE have taken issue with is the overstated impact of his statistics, particularly triple doubles, have on winning. Everyone says "Russ is 134-45 (0.75) when he gets a triple double!" That is a undeniable fact which I am not disputing. I just find it to be a bit misleading because his teams are 174-138 (.56) when he averages a triple double. Still a 46 win pace which is commendable but a far cry from the 62 win pace if you look at the single games when he has one. As you said, it's about how you want to frame it, though.Nothing. I think back when I first heard it used, it fit. Like Travis Outlaw scoring 40 in a game for a 12 win Clippers team.
But it’s usage got extended well beyond the original intent.
