🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Drake & PND Album Fall 2024

You knew enough to criticize him about this.....

The meme isn't funny, it shows how pathetic it is to give strangers a mill yet your BMs baby shower looks like an elementary school bake sale.

Drake is the clown.

Did all this really need my explaining?

So before he could have a paternity test on the kid he was supposed to make sure ole girl's baby shower was lavish, just in case?

Famb I get it, you hate Drake, you really hate him. That is the core of it.

He is a clown to you, and whatever reason you can use to back up that already formed opinion you use.

Why not take a paternity test then? A chick claims I'm the father of her child I'm taking that test to find out one way or another.

Pretty much.

Drakes explanation makes sense, but unfortunately the truth doesn't matter in Rap beef.

He's still in a tough bind.
Makes sense? he cares about the topic so much that he puts on that costume for a photo shoot when nobody who he was, but made a conscious decision to ignore the topic after becoming a worldwide superstar? That makes sense to you?

This is a pathetic attempt at damage control.

I’ve been observing the beef since it popped off. My group chat blew up when Infared dropped.

Infrared
My initial thoughts before hearing the song for myself was “pusha must have a album about to drop because he’s sending shots at Drake/Cash money again” after hearing it came away impressed and I’m actually enjoying the album

Dupey
I didn’t expect for Drake to respond so quick but it was strong. Directly questioned the legitimacy of Pusha DBoy claims and the shots at Ye were suprising

The story of Adidon
The beat selection and the cover art is clever and calculated as hell. Pusha has been waiting for years for this. The personal attacks are cool as this is a rap beef but I feel like the shot at 40 is a bit too much. I’m not surprised Drake impregnated a IG chick( she’s more of a stripper than a pornstar IMO) and if he wanted to make sure the baby was his then that’s his business. To me the more damaging parts of the diss where the blackface, and the adidon roll out interference.

Drake’s never been in this position so I’m curious how he will respond. Pusha has never been the this relevant in the blog world so I’m curious how he will use this spotlight. His album is :emoji_fire:

I understand why a white person might accept that BS statement but if black saying "ok Drake, that makes sense".... something is really wrong.

the way i see it, it wasn't an issue until this rap beef, so maybe damage is a matter of perspective. Drake was an actor before he did music. His explanation, if anything, makes sense but is old news. Stereotyping, typecasting, passing over minorities in favor of white actors. this is STILL an ongoing issue (see ghost in the shell). I mean this is one reason why black panther was such an awesome film.

This drake vs pusha beef is nothing more than that at the end of the day. rap beef. its two hockey players going at it, its cavs vs warriors (warriors gonna win tho :nerd:). The way i see it, at the time, Drake was trying to portray the way the industry still sees people of color, specifically blacks. I get it. if anything, drake doing this was risky because you don't bite the hand that feeds you. you don't see a lot of women saying F U to the Weinsteins of the world, they get on their knees. tho, that may change now idk. i'd like to think so.

My point is, i don't think it's fair to say Drake is outta pocket for doing blackface meanwhile Kanye is talking about ....w.e the hell he is talking about with regard to slavery, trump "beating the odds" (not true) and rocking his MAGA hat. and trump is a racist. period. so let's not put this picture on the same level. not as if drake was making fun of black people, light skin or not, black folks get it the same in America.

if we are gonna put this much weight on an entertainer's opinion on race relations, social issues, etc, then kanye needs to hold a damn press conference to explain himself, because trump and his people are a bunch of Rosannes or worse, with political power. meanwhile kim k having a meeting with this dude over prison reform :smh: only in america.

as far as drake's alleged son with sophie jumpoff...*kanye shrug* you would think these entertainers know better nowadays. a positive test is $$$$$$.

oh and i think the 40 line was outta pocket. MS is for life. not an easy thing to live with. but that's just me. carry on!

I agree that Drake shouldn't get judged like crazy because of the blackface 10 years ago other than the fact that it was a cornball move and that he did it on the basis of being a biracial actor that has some privileged to do so without backlash. Much like the biracial girl from Dear White People. At the very least I feel that Drake has and always will walk that fine line of hopping in and out of his biracial world with the things he does for his own benefit rather than the benefit of his people. Pusha did a good job of exposing that side of Drake.

I mean that was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to that track.

As far as 40 is concerned, all is fair in love and war. Pusha did nothing wrong in my eyes because drake raps about homie being sick but he still pawns him off at the end of the day producing music and running the company. If drake was really that concerned about 40 then he would hold him closer to the chest rather than putting it out there. Was the line tasteless? Perhaps, but Pusha T has worn straight backs/braids for 18+ years!!! Son raps about the meanest of coke flows!!! What did y'all expect!!! That was light compared to when I first heard about leaving condoms on baby seats.
