Coach ginn doesn't get enough credit for what he does for the community of cleveland and obviously for his players. he doesn't push them towards ohio st. I can promise you that.
IYE2...do you live in Cleveland? Ginn Sr. gets plenty of credit for what he does for the community IMO. But, you gotta understand there are 2sides to everything.
For all the good he's done getting "his" players a chance to go to college for free when a lot of them would have never had that opportunity isgreat. Honestly his bus tour and getting these kids the chance to receive a college education is very respected.
...But you could argue that he's ruined a few Cleveland area school'sfootball programs as well. He has basically single-handedly ruined Benedictine's football program. They were a contender for the state championshipbasically every year in their division until about 4-5 years ago (now they haven't even made the playoffs in years). He's gotten about 4-5 of theirbest kids to transfer for the past 4 seasons. Not to mention St. Edward (Troy Smith, Ray Small, and Latwan Anderson). I could go on and on about the playerstransferring in there and it definitely isn't all clean. Most of his big time recruits never started out atGlenville to begin with.
How can you promise that he doesn't push players to Columbus? I think there is only one kid from Glenville who ever turned Tressdown (Cordalle Scott).
I can't remember if tOSU was really pursuing Pierre Woods (one of Ginn's first big time recruits), but I know damn well after Lloyd had him in hisdoghouse after his soph year, and after Teddy went to tOSU, Ginn Sr. has done all he has possibly could to keep his players away from Ann Arbor.
Now, on another note, you guys are getting one of the most under the radar kids in the country in LB, Scott McVey (Cleveland St. Ignatius). Same school asLeCharles Bentley and Anthony Gonzalez. His junior year, he was HANDS DOWN one of the best players in the state ofOH. He completely exposed Marcus Hall and was the best player on the field for the Ignatius/Glennville game and was the MVP of the Division 1 State Titlegame, Ignatius/Elder (13 tackles, 5 sacks and a pick). He is RELENTLESS and is extremely smart/disciplined. If he wasn't a bit undersized (he'sofficially 5'11"), and didn't play off and on through a serious shoulder injury his entire Sr. year (he recently had surgery), he would be one ofthe top LB recruits in the country. Scout still has him as their #4 overall Mike, but his ranking/stock has plummeted everywhere else.
Kid is an absolute player, and I'll definitely be rooting for him personally (it pains me to say it).
