He told reporters in the offseason that he was gonna "do his own thing" and wasn't in Manhattan for very many "voluntary" workouts. I guess that didn't sit very well with Bill Snyder.

And OU's Prez said something along the lines of "we'll consider giving the Big 12 a chance if a) Commissioner Beebe is fired; b) serious regulation is put forth in regards to the Longhorn Network (especially with high school games); and c) there is discussion of equal revenue sharing." I love how Boren went straight for Beebe's head

I know, I was just jokin about Bryce. his elevator doesn't go to the top floor.

Tennessee might be benching center James Stone. His shot gun snaps were atrocious.

Tiny running with the ones during these bye week practices

Scott couldn't get the votes to accept OU and OSU only. He only got six votes. Needed nine. Pac 12 Presidents were all in if Texas joined.

This was really close to happening, if not for the dreaded LHN which Texas insists on keeping. The Pac 12 didn't need Texas that bad and they weren't going to cave to the revenue sharing system Texas wanted since it favored, guess who? The Longhorns.

Scott's statement is all over the net with that portion in bold

Oklahoma wants to get away from Texas, it seems as if they are stuck.

There are still a lot of moving parts, don't think it's over. Larry Scott basically told the Big XII schools to go kick rocks cause Texas doesnt want to play fair, hence the statement by Boren.

OU and Texas will meet to sort out their differences. Texas will have to cave, or else we are talking realignment again since OU will be pissed.

Pac 12 is open to expansion but they have their sights set on the schools they want: OU, OSU, Texas, Texas Tech.

Guess Sork was wrong.

Just out of curiosity, what part of the statement says "covering our $$%".

Scott knew he had OU and OSU in the bag, it's a statement basically saying if you want to join our conference it has to be on our terms. Everyone is equal. Schools don't dictate terms the conference does. The President's that didn't vote held the line, and Scott made it a part of his statement.

I still don't see how the Big XII is going to work with the LHN. Oklahoma and OSU don't want a part of it. I'm sure the other schools that remain will side with the Oklahoma schools.

Btw for you ESPN sheep, CBS sports has done an excellent job of covering this whole saga.

I know I quoted this, but this wasn't what I meant to be cosigning.  I was mainly referring to the aTm situation...

In the past six months or so, Arizona State has lost three starters on the defensive side of the ball and one starter on the offensive side, mostly to season-ending injuries.

Unbelievably, the Sun Devils have been hit by another significant injury to a defensive starter.

Junior Onyeali (pictured, No. 97), the Pac-10′s Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2010, has a tear of the meniscus in his left knee and will undergo surgery in two days to repair it.  As a result, Onyeali will miss at least the next six weeks and, possibly, the remainder of the season.

IronMan - I wouldn't say OU wants to get away from UT more than to say they want to leave the conference which they been pretty vocal about.

I mean the PAC could have taken OU/OSU and forced UTs hand to make concessions towards LHN. Now they pretty much get the 20 million plus the 15 from ESPN which still outpaces everyone by a good margin. So in a sense you can say they pretty much got what they wanted all along, the money coup plus a conference to house their other sports.

I mean if what everyone wanted was LHN taken down or conceded then that seemed like a good option but now it stays on air with time to pick up more carriers and expand, which nobody really wanted.

Looks like BYU will join the Big 12 to get them to 10. Now we just have to wait and see if they'll go to 12. If so, I hope UL and Cincy are the first two. The BE teams met yesterday and there were rumors that UCONN didn't even show up

I'll stick with what I said. FSU(discounted buyout), WVU, and A&M to SEC. Mizzou too if they don't drop the ball.
ND to B1G .
USF/RU/UCONN leaving BE.

Of course BE officials will say that WVU is getting denied to the SEC, smoke and mirrors that I don't buy. The SEC must get A&M completely on board before they accept anyone else. As said before, keep watching UTx. You said UT to Pac, I said they go to B1G and I'll stick with it. I wouldnt disagree with ACC talks, but the LHN will take a major hit or worse.

.. wait for it
