LinkKnicks bench J.R. Smith, but NBA's clown prince will be back soon enough
He can make it sound so sincere, but the con never ends. J.R. Smith was raised in a suburban, middle-class home with two good parents and access to an excellent education. He had a tremendous high school coaching mentor – Dan Hurley at St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, N.J. – and he has long been taught the difference of right and wrong. Smith's always loved to play the part of a tough city kid, but truth be told, he's a soft, spoiled suburban jump shooter.
Dwight taking them self-defense classes. Attack the groin.
no one really expected him to be the mess he's been this season.Knicks bid against themselves when re-signing JR Smith.
I disagree with that. This has always been JR though. Maybe a little more toned down because George Karl I think is a stronger coach than Woodson and wouldn't tolerate all of his foolishness, but make no mistake JR's been this way since he's before he's been in the league. I haven't read the article you were referring to, I'm speaking on his personal history. He's a known knucklehead, productive player or not, this is who he is. Apparently it runs in the family, his sister was wildin' out on the owner of the Chinese team he was signed to during the lockout. In fact, she blacked out on him twice. Not a good look.no one really expected him to be the mess he's been this season.Knicks bid against themselves when re-signing JR Smith.
if he was at least productive and contributing this season like he was last, the criticism would've been muted, but he's under more scrutiny now and rightfully so, but that article was way outta line imo. borderline personal. not much integrity in that
Another reason why lebron compared to mj is pretty dumb. MJ and the Bulls was a MUST WATCH every single night no matter who they played, **** even preseason games.
When i watch the heat i dont watch them to excite me, which is something early 2000's or Kobe dominated era of the lakers did for me or iverson prime days, etc
You just specifically highlighted MJ and the Bulls, and then essentially lumped LeBron in as just another member of the Heat. That's incredibly unfair to LeBron. He does great things on a nightly basis. Nostalgia is getting in the way of analysis.
LeBron has the best FG% of his career, and is tying his best 3pt% of his career.
"Can't really say that about 2013-2014 lebron"
Ever thought maybe you're the one that changed, and basketball doesn't excite you like it did when you were a kid? Honest question.
I don't really find LeBron that entertaining to watch either, but that's definitely subjective... Some people seem to love it.Nah lbj just isnt entertaining. Kobe and mj know that this game is entertainment thats why they have a style to their game
The Pelicans have been active in their pursuit of a trade involving Eric Gordon, according to Sean Deveney of the Sporting News, who says that New Orleans has contacted several clubs about Gordon, exploring three-team scenarios as well. Grantland’s Zach Lowe adds (via Twitter) that he has heard similar rumblings.
Gordon, who was acquired by the Pelicans in the 2011 trade that sent Chris Paul to the Clippers, signed a maximum-salary offer sheet with the Suns in the summer of 2012, which the Pelicans attempted to match, protecting their asset. Since then though, Gordon has been the subject of several trade rumors and much speculation, particularly after New Orleans traded for Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans this past offseason.
According to Deveney, the Pelicans are seeking frontcourt help, with an eye on acquiring a player who could start alongside Anthony Davis. It’s not clear though whether Gordon would have much value as a trade chip. While he’s been healthy this year, starting 31 games for the Pelicans, the 25-year-old has missed significant chunks of the last couple seasons, and is also earning a sizable salary. Including this season, Gordon’s current deal pays him nearly $15MM annually in its three remaining years before expiring in 2016. According to Lowe (Twitter link), teams around the league are intrigued by Gordon, but wary of taking on his contract.
Deveney’s report surfaced around the same time that the Pelicans announced Jrue Holiday would be sidelined indefinitely due to a stress fracture in his right tibia. Without Holiday in the backcourt for the next little while, the club may be less inclined to move Gordon for a frontcourt piece.
Not entertaining? Wow. Only on NT are KD and LBJ are deemed boring players. Strangely, whenever they play they get the highest TV ratings. They make incredible highlight plays almost every night they play.Nah lbj just isnt entertaining. Kobe and mj know that this game is entertainment thats why they have a style to their game
thats all great for heat fans and the team but its lebron getting 25-35 points on 50% shooting every night, then you get a few fastbreak allyoops. theres no what if he had one of the best games of his career factor because i know he wont he's just going to go out get his points/rebounds/assists and most of the time win without much effort. again its great for the heat, great for not burning out during the season but for a spectator its really boring.LeBron has the best FG% of his career, and is tying his best 3pt% of his career.

And when Smith's benching ends with these Knicks, there will be no epiphanies. No revelations. Everyone knows how this story ends with him, how the money will dry up and how he'll wish he had done everything so differently in his career. It is sad and predictable and on a collision course with cliche.
